    • Was only given one towel per person, lots of noise from people and staff coming and going all night, staff wanting to service rooms too early, fish and chips fish was greasy, noise and shaking from construction across the street

Food was great and wait staff were friendly .

Hotel is a bit run down inside the rooms, however, I was aware of this before booking.

The pub was great, the people friendly

The room was like an old dorm room. The linens and beds were clean but the rest of the room was dirty and dingy

Great location, helpful, cheerful staff, good food!

Stairs were a bit scary for an older person. One room was very hot but others were fine.

Guys are friendly and it is ok one night if you travel by.

The clean lady knocked on our door at 8:30 am, when the checkout was at 10 am.One room was clean, and in the other one, the bed was dirty. Flies in the room.

Staff in bar area very accommodating.

Bear in mind old place no lift. Room 9 could do with an uplift to make more pleasant. Eg bedside lamps, no drawers in room to put bits away, bathroom

The staff were very polite and helpful, the food in the bar was good - they do a deal for residents which is very good value for money.

You get what you pay for, I appreciate that. However the WiFi didn’t work in the room (makes it a long night) and the bed was awful - makes it a very long night. It must be the oldest and/or cheapest mattress possible in room 5, you could feel every spring in your back, felt like a bed of nails. I slept on top of the duvet for more comfort, but it didn’t help, I was just uncomfortable and cold. I paid up front for 3 nights but left early morning after night 1 and didn’t come back. At my age I really need my sleep so I had to find somewhere else to get a restful night. Shame, great location, good food, lovely staff.

food was good and staff very nice !

room phone didnt work even though we informed reception... when trying to use the shower , the bath tap still ran giving more water in the bath than coming from the shower head ! decor was tired

The staff are really nice and friendly, I was staying across the road in a separate building, the facilities there were good, a full kitchen for cooking.

Good location near rail station, town centre shops, takeaways, pubs etc. Also located above excellent pub and bistro. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed comfortable room. Great easy to use shower. Mini fridge in room with complimentary water and soft drinks. Good value!

Very little not to like. Would be nice to have more easily accessible power sockets - maybe add a power strip / multi socket so that you don’t have to move and reach behind the bedside cabinet and unplug kettle.

    5StevenPosted on: 4-18-2025

The room was large but cold tbh and the bathroom was cold

The hearing very cold and wind blowing in gaps off the windows

Nothing i liked! About this hotel. Only plus was the new bedding.

It was dirty! The kettle was disgusting! I purchased a new one in falkirk to use! Broken draws! Walls filthy! Rusty toilet roll holder! Put the plug into the sink and couldnt get it out as its not attached to a chain! Socket for the tv pulled out wall when using the plugs. Very very basic! The cushions on the bed stunk of peoples sweat! And was dirty! I dont leave reviews but on this occasion i felt i needed to.

Positives - Fabulous Sunday Roast meal.Great bar staff and friendly localsNice ensuite bathroomClose to cafe for breakfast Walkable from from Falkirk Grahamsten station (not easy from Falkirk Hill)Negatives - Spiral stairs hard with heavy bags.Needs some sort of nice smelling air freshners/diffusers in upstairs hallways as has that old unaired smell.Bedroom hallway filled up with old tables etc and messy office space. Could do with a couple of armchairs there and office glass doors curtained off from mess. Ok stay, we slept well.

£170 to stay 2 nights is diabolical for how dated and unfurnished the rooms are. No side lamps, a TV so old it doesn’t even support subtitles, there are only plugs on the opposite side of the room to the bathroom where the only mirror is in the property (stayed for a wedding nearby and had to use my own small mirror from makeup palette to do my hair near the plug at the window as there were no plugs on one side of room) the bed was TINY feet hanging off the end, the reception is the bar which is shut during the day so could not complain to anyone (we seen a lovely member of staff who was helpful as we were leaving for the wedding but did not have the time to explain we did not want to stay the second night) there is an intercom to get back in after a certain time that nobody answered - luckily someone was in the kitchen (at 1am?) and we banged the window for them to let us in the building…the cleaners come round at 7.45 in the morning and hoover the halls at 8am when you’re still sleeping. Shambles

clean room and clean bedding decent shower room

    no lift no breakfast

Well located, was there for work to start my little boy joined me over the weekend and the staff were absolutely amazing, If you want a great weekend then this is the place to be, amazing staff, vibrant atmosphere, great food and the live music is just first class. If you don’t like having a great time then don’t go here…Maid service was consistent and to good standards

I travel the entire UK with work and I only have this to complain about, trust me I like complaining…Down side is there isn’t enough towels in the room, what I stock piled got removed, I had 1 bath towel between 2………The room was clean, the bathroom lacked shelving to put anything on but your stay is minimum so shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Enjoyed our stay in this old pub, people are clearly trying to upgrade so no doubt will come in time. Certainly clean, and downstairs bar very friendly and well stocked.Got parked in the hotel.

Facilities basic at the moment and view not great, but it is a town centre hotel. Fridge on top of chest of drawers works but not really hotel standard. Couldn't get to grips with the shower.
