    Pros +

    • It’s nice and quiet to how we like it
    • Hotel room clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast food and choice excellent.Breakfast staff provided good breakfast.
    • Not a lot of- very run down but staff nice

    Cons -

    • Cold room heating was on a timer but staff sorted heater out Building could do with a bit of TLC carpets been the same worn out for last couple of years
    • We were told there wasn't a need to book table for evening meal as hotel wasn't busy we arrived back at hotel about 8:30 .Staff at bar /restaurant reported that chef was starting to close kitchen .I will give credit that they did accommodate us but when the main meals arrived the 2 fish and chips were slightly undercooked and cool.We did mention to staff on duty but not really given any consideration. Desserts were fine. Maybe if they had offered the desserts or even a free drink would have been acceptable .And marking would have very good.
    • Heating not working and no hot water on the second day Apparently this was only a problem on 50% of the hotel - why wasnt I moved ??

Room was good and very big. Nice bathroom, very clean. Good location. Good breakfast included. We went to watch live music at Backstage so perfect that we could stay onsite. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate at Jock's bar and the food was exceptional.

Nothing really - silly things. The bed kept rolling away from the wall - that's about it.

Location was perfect for us. Walking distance to Loch Leven & town shops. Food was good & service great

Hotel is undergoing refurbishment. It will be better for everyone once all the rooms are finished. Part of carpark flooded due to the rains

    The location is good

In the morning my room (5) had no hot water. Reported to reception who said maintenance would sort it, so went for breakfast. After that returned to room to find it the same, so cold wash and checked out with no time to request another room for a shower (not that it was offered). Receptionist had not bothered to check on maintenance. I asked if she would report it to management and got a blank stare. Just got handed the full bill, even refunding the cheap meal would have shown some effort to appease, but no. I did mention that TravelInn would have immediately refunded the room rate (blank stare).

Pleased the rooms had been refurbished. Enjoyable breakfast and dinner. The menu for dinner was limited.

Most of the carpet in the corridors were a bit threadbare!

Perfect location, friendly staff huge room

    8EvelynPosted on: 1-26-2026

Nice traditional hotel. Good meal in Jocks bar and huge tasty breakfast. All staff were helpful and friendly. Nice large room with bay window. Great for music events as the backstage venue is attached to the hotel. What an asset this venue is. We would stay again.

Yes the hotel is a bit tired but for the price we paid, unable to fault it as we thought it was good value for money overall.

The location for us is perfect. The rooms are big, clean with comfortable beds. The staff are extremely helpful especially Shona & Susan. The breakfast & meals are very good all of which will attract us back.

    Nothing really.

The rooms have been all done up, making it more modern and cheerful! Everything matching is lovely! The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable! The new shower rooms are also lovely, makes a huge difference! The staff in all areas are lovely, chatty, smiley and friendly! I wasn't too well unfortunately and didn't manage down to breakfast, but my husband went down and explained and the staff gave him a tray and he brought breakfast up to the room, one of the staff even brought scrambled eggs up to the room which was lovely! Nothing was any bother! On checking out i was told that they hoped I'd feel better soon! So nice!

Our room was on the cold side and Jocks Bar (where we went for dinner) was freezing, the waitress (who was lovely) sat us beside the radiator and turned it up on high, but it was only a small heater so didn't really heat the place up much, other diners sat with coats or big jumpers on! Apart from that everything else was great! Oh and the coffee still isn't great!

    Location good.

Bed was very hard. Kettle lead didn’t reach socket?? Dim lights.Meal in restaurant very poor: macaroni especially.

    5DavidPosted on: 1-17-2026

Good sized, if sparsely attired room. Good place to stay if you're there for the backstage concerts. The Loch Leven gins were very nice.

I paid £121 for one night and that didn't come with breakfast. Something I wasn't made aware of until after I'd eaten. The waiting staff did at least appear to check when I gave my room number. They said reception should have told us the night before. That didn't happen. Otherwise breakfast was fine for the extra £12, if somewhat slow in coming. Just check what you're package allows for here. If in doubt, ask. They won't tell you up front it seems.Watch the corridor carpets as well. A bit loose in places.

    Staff pleasant breakfast good

Cold room No mirror to get ready.Holes throughout carpets real trip hazard. No hangers for used towels to dry. Very noisy at night couldn't sleep

    1ElenaPosted on: 1-17-2026

    The concert has held there

Everything it is overtired, the meal was awful, bed too hard to rest properly, the staff very unprofessional.

    8HilaryPosted on: 1-14-2026

We stayed to attend a concert via Mundell Music. A very handy combination.

The hotel is tired in places.

    7JanetPosted on: 1-13-2026

Lovely warm comfortable spacious room, comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. Restaurant and bar are very nice. Good quality food and good value. Breakfast is individually cooked rather than buffet. Delicious! Best cooked breakfast we’ve had in years! Backstage at the Green is a great venue for music.

Can’t say there was anything we didn’t like ….. In fact we liked it so much we booked another stay before we left!

    1GeoffPosted on: 1-8-2026

We had trouble with timings which the manager sorted out she was very nice but the rest of the staff were not so friendly at breakfast

We got to our room and it was freezing cold apparently they had boiler trouble all they did was give us 2 quilts we left early and went to a different hotel in kinross no mention of a refund we couldn't stay any longer it was unbearable
