Lovely rooms, reception and bar staff.
We were pointed to a table. Breakfast was poor. No sausages or bacon left snd breakfast wasn’t finishing for another hour. The manager can with 3 sausages when I had finished eating so I just took one. It would have been nice to have my cooked breakfast together. Disappointing as we had stayed twice before and did not have the same experience. I hope they haven’t lost their touch!!!
Average stay
The bedroom window was in need of repair or replacement, and the bathroom sink tap was loose. Breakfast was disappointing as it was a buffet rather than being served from the kitchen, which was not what we expected. Overall, some maintenance improvements and clearer information about breakfast would improve the experience.
Welcome, assistance was all very good. Bar and restaurant service excellent. Really good without being stuffy.
Verry little to criticise. Toast your own bread on 1 machine at breakfast and 1 coffee machine that also was only hot water for tea. I'd have preferred table service for 5☆Self serve orange juice was crap !
Beautiful building of character. Lovely open fires.
Signage to bedrooms bit unclear. TV in room’s channel guide was stuck on programming for 31.12.25 so had to google for current programming.
Beautiful location. Very friendly and attentive staff. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice.
Paid for a room with a view and didn't get one. Hotel updating their website to detail that not all Estate Rooms have views.
Beautiful common spaces and views from the hotel grounds. Warm and comfortable rooms. Lovely lounge space for residents of the hotel.
Nothing, it was a great stay.
Lovely comfortable room, great food and friendly staff. The reception manager was particularly helpful and professional. We had a great time at the outdoor activities and a brilliant relaxing stay.
The setting and surrounding area. Offers a wide range of facilities
Our room was ready when we arrived at 1.05. Because the normal check in is three pm, they wanted to charge an extra £20 for early entry which I declined.
The whole hotel has a very special feel to it. The views from the front of the hotel (entering from the golf course) are stunning. We enjoyed those views while eating in Cairns, one of the 3 restaurants at the hotel. Easy to find once coming off the motorway and into the beautiful countryside. We had a very warm welcome and the hotel's Christmas decorations were outstanding. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. We chose one of the more superior rooms and we were not disappointed by spending that extra money. The spa treatments added to our overall enjoyment. The food lunch in Cairns, snack in Barossa Bar and breakfast in the other restaurant were all great. Seriously cannot fault anything.
Absolutely nothing. I would go back any time.
Beautiful surroundings, fantastic staff, lovely food. We can't fault this place and we have stayed almost every December since we found it, 4yrs ago. We also tried the spa this time and it was a cracking experience.
Absolutely personal preference but we found the bed a bit too hard. But it wouldn't stop us from staying again, as this was our 3rd visit at December in 4years
A fabulous two night stay. All the staff at this hotel are friendly and accommodating nothing is a problem. We wanted a relaxing chilled weekend and felt so rested after our stay. Thank you Murrayshall we will definitely return. Emma
No complaints from me.
The scenery was incredible. Room was big and comfortable. Staff left a birthday gift of chocolates for me!
Staff wasn’t completely sure about their offerings availabilities in the bar. But not a big deal. We got what we were looking for. No elevator. Out in the middle of nowhere, but kind of nice that that’s the case.
Clean warm rooms, with an open fire and great quality food.
Stunning location in the heart of Perthshire, friendly helpful staff.
My wife and I have stayed here many times over 20+ years. It is 2 years since our last stay and we were very impressed. The restaurant has improved. We are fish dishes in the restaurant and had breakfast of well which all the food was very good. All the staff we encountered were very polite and friendly. We booked a suite which was spotless and very spacious. Our communal gripe was the WiFi was shocking but staff agreed and that it was to be changed very soon. Overall it was excellent and we will stay there again.
WiFi
The estate is beautiful, the interior is gorgeous, and the cost was reasonable. The bar was very nice in the evening, and the bar tender was very helpful.
The beds and pillows were not very comfortable. We found a spider in the room. We both got food poisoning from the afternoon tea (we think from the chicken liver pate) which soiled our vacation. The service was also a mixed bag. The first day after spending a while finding the breakfast room, we were seated at the perfect table overlooking the estate. When we got up to grab coffee, our nice table was given away. For several meals, we waited awhile to be seated and served. The staff were very nice and thoughtful, and even gave us some free things (and removed the automatic service charge), but it's clear they were understaffed.
The location was amazing
The room was far too warm. We asked for a fan but they didn’t have any. We had to sleep with the curtains and windows wide open. The room was also dirty and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. They were also understaffed so the wait for food reached 40 mins+ we actually watched our meal sitting on the bar while the staff made tables up. I complained about our stay but the receptionist was rude and did nothing about it. I made a further complaint but we were only offered 50% off the best rate room if we booked again. The complaint process took weeks for a response. We booked this as our wedding anniversary stay and can honestly say what a massive let down. I will never stay again and make sure to tell anyone listing not to bother either. Such a shame
Nice rural location
Meal in Cairns was disappointing Room had a poor view ,otherwise room was wellappointed.
