Pros +
- Ambience
- Parking.
- Plenty of parking. Restaurant food good.
Cons -
- Housekeeping and old furniture
- Mold, water pressure, types of beds.
- We stayed in Room 2 and the floors in the bedroom and bathroom very slanted. Guess because it’s an old building but almost made it hard to keep balance. But we are older so maybe that contributed. Beds not comfortable either. Wouldn’t stay again but not the worst accommodation we have ever had either. Did like convenience store right across street!

The staff were very helpful and friendly
Old bed and pillows very uncomfortable
Excellent food.
Bathroom a little tired, but the room was very comfortable.
The staff were lovely, food was beautiful
The bathroom in my room wasn’t the cleanest. Single glazed windows that leaked water and the room wasn’t freezing because of the windows but as soon as you put the heater on it got far too hot. There was no happy medium
We were there for a wedding at fingask castle. One tip order taxis well in advance if your going to a wedding there call the hotel for local numbers. The staff were brilliant the food was delicious. rooms a bit dated and a few cobwebs on the lights but comfortable and perfect for what we needed.
A great little country hotel with amazing staff. Food was great, eaten in the bar next to an open fire, so a great atmosphere. There’s also a restaurant section you can sit in as well. Definitely recommend the steak or and chips, along with the nacho’s to share as a starter. Drinks not too expensive, just the same as everywhere else really. The room was a little dated but very comfortable and clean. It was also good to have a bathroom with not only a bath but shower as well. We were in room 3 so just up a small flight of stairs directly above the entrance and reception. So no long flights of stairs to navigate. Parking the car outside was no issue, with lots of off street parking and a small spar shop opposite ideal for buying things you’d forgot to pack.
The down side to being in room 3 was that all residents have key to get into the building as reception isn’t 24hrs. This meant that those arriving back from a wedding reception at 12:45 in the morning could congregate on the stairs and have a conversation that could be heard in Perth ??. To be honest it could happen anywhere and isn’t the fault of the hotel in any way. We would still come back, and still recommend.
Do not stay here
Turned up at 10:02pm only to be refused entry to hotel and told that check in closes at 10pm. I had instructed the hotel that I would be there between 10&11pm. Was spoken to by an incredibly rude man, awful customer service, disgust attitude.do not go here!! I was left without a hotel.
Location
Very run down. Room well overdue decoration and updating. Bathroom was awful.
Cute accommodation in a small place with access to buses. The little store nearby had everything you might need and the room was clean and quiet.
Perfect for a wedding which was located down the road.
Very basic, decor was old and rundown, clean but not gleaming
Beautiful place very clean on entering very accommodating as I had a late check in. Room was very clean and modern spacious. Loved how deep the bath was and very hot water, with was very welcome after being out driving all day.
Only down side was no food available on Mondays and Tuesday. But shop over the road plus Uber eats so not an issue really
Small hotel, quirky, nice location, convenient
Old property with slopping floor. Room was a bit tired, headboard scratched, curtains broken.
Staff were great. Food at the restaurant was very good. Steph the owner was very helpful and gracious.
Lovely staff, beautiful old building, ni e restaurant
Really nice room plenty of tea coffee and hot chocolate. Enjoyed the bar on the night
At this time the kitchen and bar were closed Monday and Tuesdays, which was well communicated and the option to cancel offered. There is a transport cafe within easy 5 minutes bike, or 10 minute walk away, which does good basic food.
Everywhere clean and in good working order host was especially nice going out of his way to help me
Easy to find and room was spacious.
Had mouldy shower curtain, shower curtain needs replacing in room I stayed in.
