    • Perfect location. I loved the 1930s Art Deco features of the interior. Staff were extremely pleasant, efficient and helpful. The public areas were spacious, relaxed and comfortable, enhanced by sea views. Breakfasts very satisfactory. Good bar, always open when we wanted it. Good value. Parking readily available directly outside and inexpensive. A very well run hotel, a pleasure to stay here.
    • Location and very helpful staff

    Cons -

    • Room was very warm which made it difficult to sleep
    • A minor reservation: my bedroom was rather hot the first night, but better thereafter.
    • Noisy music late into the night. Creaky floorboards.

Wonderful little room that was perfect for my 4-night stay. Stunning views, excellent location, fast wi-fi, quiet at night, and all at a very affordable price! The balcony is shared, as clearly stated in the description, but it was still lovely to have one right on the sea!

The bed could use an upgrade - it was soft, and I could feel the springs. The lighting was very dim, with the vanity light in the bathroom broken for the duration of my stay. I would definitely stay here again, regardless.

The hotel is in a great location on the seafront. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with a sea view. We would definitely return.

The bathroom had nowhere to hang your towels. A couple of hooks would have been good.

Good location with sea view and central to the town centre. The room was an acceptable size and very clean and had a king size bed which was very comfortable.

The room was very hot all the time which meant we needed to keep the windows open wide all night. However, that meant we had to put up with road noise all night, loud screaming from passers by and a zebra crossing yellow beacon flashing into the room throughout.

I noticed the comfortable ambiance as soon as I entered the foyer and the welcome I got from Alicia was warm. She first let me unpack my car then sorted out the parking. Once parked she sorted my room key etc. I felt at home. Throughout my stay she and the other staff were friendly and helpful. When I needed an early start and would miss breakfast Alicia arranged a packed lunch instead. The night porter had it ready as I left and when I returned Alicia checked I had received it. Special mention to the restaurant staff who went out of their way to be helpful as well. Oh yes, I had my dog with me and she was fussed and made welcome too We walked the Seven Sisters together.

Being located across from the bandstand on the esplanade meant the sounds of the performances reached my room. But this actually enhanced the seaside experience

    View of sea

Bathroom so small couldn’t turn around on it

    7LouisePosted on: 4-7-2025

Great location, quiet hotel, helpful and friendly staff, sea view room if you’re lucky! The bed was comfy, the rooms had everything you needed including towels, shampoo, hairdryer.

It’s dated, the rooms and hotel itself could do with some modernising throughout. There are some areas of black mould in the bathroom that could probably be got rid of with some elbow grease.

Lovely room, friendly staff, good rates, and delicious food.

    8IanPosted on: 3-25-2025

The staff are really friendly, had a number of conversations with them. Always helpful. Room was a good size and a proper sea view.Breakfast was worth the cost.

Having a wet shower curtain stick to your back was not great!

    9WilliamPosted on: 3-2-2025

The room was a good size with a sea view, the breakfast was satisfactory - the hotel manager went out to get sourdough bread for our toast - and the location for a short break could not be better. All the staff were helpful and friendly, more like a small family run hotel than a sizeable one. The low cost of car parking permits was also a plus. Altogether a most satisfying stay.

    8SusanPosted on: 2-28-2025

The room was very comfortable a good bed. Enjoyed the full English breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful . It’s on the sea front. A short walk to the town.

Only on small thing , a mirror needed next to the plug socket

    10SarahPosted on: 2-21-2025

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating & the hotel was very clean and tidy.

The cupboard door didn’t close & gave monsters inc vibes ? There was honestly nothing to dislike on our stay.

    8ShirleyPosted on: 2-20-2025

Very welcoming. Staff were wonderful.. Warm rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff were so helpful as one of our guests is gluten-free and dairy free. Lifts available if required. Would stay again

A bit old fashioned, maybe for some, but we were happy. We got locked out one night as we had collected a relative from the airport. Luckily, a staff member let us in

    10MartynaPosted on: 2-18-2025

Great location, extremely friendly staff good food and clean rooms. Hotel is dated yes but at the same time value for the money. If you looking for a modern hotel go next door the „View Hotel” but be prepared to pay twice more too. We had really nice stay and definitely will be back soon.

    7DebraPosted on: 2-16-2025

Breakfast was quite tasty, however, the bread was very thin, so much so it broke if you handled it to much.

There were 5 double sockets in the room but no USB ports. Shower room/toilet was very tiny. You had to stand inside shower before you could turn it on. No heating in there was very cold.

    9LesleyPosted on: 1-15-2025

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. As it was New Years Eve, the hotel was decorated beautifully and had a real cosy feeling to it. The bar served a variety of drinks and the breakfast was great, with lots to choose from.I travelled with my dog for the first time and everyone, including other guests were happy to have her there.A special mention to the waitress Izzy, who was so helpful and polite during my stay! Thank you for looking after me and Dolly the dog ?
