Location was excellent, staff friendly, bed comfy.
No TV signal, poor Ariel, would benefit from a booster Ariel. Room not cleaned properly before arrival, found plastic lid in the middle of the floor.Picture set on the wall had two of the four pictures hung upside down.
The room and shower room all modern and clean and lovely decor and clean
The location is fantastic - a stone's throw from the beach, and a short walk from the town.
I stayed here for two nights and had quite a mixed experience. The location is convenient, and the building is a converted townhouse, which adds character, but also comes with some downsides. The first night was very loud—upstairs neighbours were noisy, and unfortunately, the windows were nailed shut, making the room hot and stuffy. I raised these concerns with staff, and to their credit, they responded very quickly. They spoke to the neighbors and made it possible to open the window, which helped. That said, their follow-up became a bit too much. Staff knocked several times to check on things, including at 10pm to ensure the radiator was off. They stood in my room, hand on the radiator for several minutes to “make sure,” and even turned the dial all the way up and back down again, and asked repeatedly if the window was fully open. When I said yes, the staff member walked across the room to check for themselves—while I was in my pajamas, which felt slightly uncomfortable and intrusive. The room itself was okay. The bed linen had a few holes but smelled clean, and the mattress was surprisingly comfortable. The water pressure was decent, though the temperature fluctuated randomly. The toilet leaked and had what looked like either blood or feces on the front—either way, unclean. The walls are very thin, so earplugs are a must. One major concern: the doors don’t lock properly from the inside. After the multiple uninvited room checks, I ended up pushing the bedside cabinet against the door just to feel safe. This is not somewhere I would recommend for solo female travelers.Overall: Very attentive staff, but in a way that crossed boundaries. Good beds, decent location, but thin walls, questionable cleanliness, and poor privacy.Advice: Bring earplugs, and I wouldn’t stay here alone—especially if you’re a woman.
Close to seaside and city centre!
Only thing freezer was not clean
Our rooms were clean, bedding fresh with crisp linen.
Traffic in front of units was loud and parking is on the roadside.
I stayed in eastbourne for 8 days & booked another hotel prior to this one that I stayed in the same week. I wish I'd booked the regent for the full week instead of one night they have excellent customer service even took our bags to the room we were allocated loved everything about the regent the staff, the room & the facilities.
I've no negative really apart from there isn't disabled access and breakfast isn't available but the room & staff make up for this & the building is an old victoriana roen house so expected limited disabled access.
30 seconds from the pier, beds were comfy, staff were decent, had nice view from room 4. We like that there was a fridge in the room we found useful especially with young children as we could put some bits that we bought from home.
Shower in both rooms were freezing!!!! freshly decorated it's not to a decent level and it looked quite tacky, room 1 is very noisy,
Friendly reception. Clean and comfortable room.Toiletries and tea and coffee included.
Couldn't get TV to work.Sash window banged a bit in the wind.
Nothing to like. It's not a hotel it's just rooms. Very tired and not inviting whatsoever.
The stink of weed reaching the room at 02:00 in the morning. We couldn't wait to leave and were off at first light. We had a terrible night's sleep due to the smell waking us up.
The view from the room was good, very helpful and friendly staff, the bed was comfortable
The noise from the street, I couldn't sleep as there were people screaming, shouting, playing football riding bicycles till early hours in the morning.
Very near the sea front and pier. A short walk from the town and about 10 minutes walk from the station. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The room had a mini fridge which was a nice addition. 2 bottles of water in there for us too which was very nice.
Not free parking as shown on the hotel information. You need to buy a permit for £2.20 from the hotel. Covers you to 11am next day but should of said on the site. Reception is in Sterling Hotel next door. Again this info needs to be on the site. Whole place constantly smelt of frying onions and Indian food. I don't mind that when I'm going out to eat somewhere but not great all day. Fridge was very noisy as quite old and would shake the table and glasses/cups when it cycled on and off. There was only one small flat pillow each. It was a little pointless having it at all. Had the worse night sleep since my kids were born. I had to put a pile of clothes under the pillow. No option to ask for another pillow as we got back to the room late which was my own fault. The owner had said they leave at 10pm so it was my own fault for not realising about the pillow sooner. The owner was very nice though and if I'd been able to ask I'm sure they would of given another pillow. This next bit is not the fault of the hotel but it affected our stay. The room got very warm and has a nice big window but if you have it open at night by 4am every seagul in the world seems to have decided to come and have a screaming match outside your window. Again, not the hotels fault. It also felt like more than your normal amount of guls too. For context, I've stayed at Looe in the harbour and that's a fishing village. There were more guls at my Eastbourne hotel window than there.
The room is fantastic, has an oven, fridge, washing machine and microwave which was a great bonus but the bathroom was stinking of sewage.
Room stinks of sewage from the bathroom
Good location for beach and the town. Facilities were okay for a short break. Proprietor was helpful and polite.
I booked for the Regency but was put into the Sterling next door. Facilities were okay, just looked a bit shabby. I did get it at a good price so can't grumble too much.
The staff was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
The walls were quite thin so we could hear our neighbours walking and talking but that was okay to cope with, what wasn’t so nice was that the place was not that clean, which is a shame because the room was quite beautiful. There was no bin as well, would be nice for the future renters. Maybe some cutlery, would be amazing, again for any future renters :)
The location was excellent. Right by the beach, which we loved. The host was very helpful and friendly.
The room was a little small for the two of us. The facilities are outdated. We could hear other guests speaking from other rooms.
Great location right by the Pier at an affordable price. Everything was clean and worked. Great shower pressure.
Simple room with no frills. If I'd been staying longer I'd probably have liked there to be a fridge in the room.
view was nice
shower a bit mouldy, but that's not a big prob for this price
