Pros +
- Friend staff, spacious room and a great location. Close to town centre
- The staff was absolutely lovely. Very accommodating, helpful, and pleasant. Watched our bags when we arrived before check in/pub opening and left to go walking. Gorgeous old building. Room was immaculate and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom, wardrobe, and coffee station. Very conveniently located--both walking distance and an easy bus ride from downtown/Eastbourne Station, plus it's right next to a Waitrose. Also was very easy to get to the start of the Seven Sisters walk by bus. The stop is just across the street. Would absolutely book again if in the area!
- Good location
Cons -
- Room was very hot. I switched on both a large fan that was in the room and a dehumidifier connected to a strange bucket of water, and opened the window as far as it would open, and still the room was hot. Entering the room from the corridor, a wall of heat hit me even after having fan and dehumidifier on for hours. One of the walls was hot but there was no heater on it. The heater in the room was off. Hard to sleep and no one around to ask for assistance by the time I realized it was too hot to sleep.
- A bit cramped, which is to be expected for such an old building.

Very quaint old (as in, 900 years old) inn. Super friendly staff, and the room was clean.Fridge in the room was very convenient.Conveniently located to explore Beachy Head on our road trip.
A bit cramped, which is to be expected for such an old building.
Helpful and friendly staff. So nice to see a pub retain its charm and original features. Wish I’d had time to sample the food but was a fleeting trip. See you next time!
We had such a beautiful little getaway to recuperate. Beautiful, well-equipped rooms, idyllic location, wonderful (and very patient) staff, delicious breakfast...the perfect escape from reality.
Such wonderful staff, so friendly and keen to offer the best service. Food was really good. Accommodation was good value for money and in a nice part of town
The entire experience is one I take up every 6 weeks to meet friends, and experience this unique offer in a place I enjoy. The management and staff radiate a positive and friendly manner, which makes visiting again and again to eat, drink and enjoy. Meals are great value and superbly cooked. All staff are pleasant, and well trained in the art of good customer service, which stems from the top.

Located a short walk from Eastbourne, this beautiful old pub is situated on the gateway to the Seven Sisters and the South Downs way walking trails. Transport links to Eastbourne,Brighton and London make it a great location. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast is a feast of traditional cooked fare. The pub itself features a great selection of drinks, beers and ales featuring a tasty selection of local brews. A great selection of meals are available too. Recommended for a drink, meals or a stay
Great food, lovely staff and welcome. Room was lovely with all you need. Breakfast also top notch.
The car park was a little small but no big issue.
I really liked the friendly and competent staff who complied with my request for a quiet room. I enjoyed the both the evening and meal and breakfast.I appreciated Katie showing me the historic cellars of The Lamb. With good rooms, food and staff, I can thoroughly recommend The Lamb.
Very good breakfast, friendly and efficient welcome, cosy room and a decent size. Comfy bed and a nice warm room with easy to adjust temperature.
A little more attention to detail would have made this a 9 or 10 eg the hot tap in the bathroom didn't work and some areas hadn't been dusted properly
I loved the homely feel of the room, the view over the rooftops with the South Downs in the distance, and the cooing of the pigeons,The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was nice and warm. Nat & her team were wonderful and made sure I was happy and well fed each morning. A really lovely stay.
A tiny thing, I never felt my shower hot water was hot enough, it was good, but I'd like to have had it a smidgen hotter.
Beautiful rooms, really quiet and comfy. Gorgeous pub and really friendly owners.
Nothing!
The full English breakfast was excellent. I was on the top floor and the accommodation was much quieter than expected considering it is a pub. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were also better than expected with quality coffee and fresh milk. There is a good choice on the food menu and the food quality was great.
I would have liked to pay a little less for the room, but who wouldn't?
Food and service was really good. Very helpful staff. The breakfast was really complete and customized to our taste.
An excellent central location. The staff are the main focus on rating as the enthusiasm from the manager is clearly infectious. They are positive, polite and always keen to help no matter how demanding.
Lovely comfortable bed, lovely staff
Room at the top felt like being in a pigeon coop. Unfortunately the building attracts pigeons. Soft lighting in the bathroom not wise. Shower head slider wasn’t working: Hot tap in sink had no pressure
Wonderful old pub, full of character with friendly hosts and well equipped warm room.
Love the fresh milk and water in the fridge. Lovely coffee bags rather than a coffee machine that’s difficult to work and get a decent cup of coffee.Comfortable mattress and pillows, brilliant owners and staff. Love this place!
