Cons -
- Reception staff were ok but not overwhelming in their greeting or helpfulness. Hotel is tired and needs ££££s spending on it. Dirty carpets and chipped paint throughout.
- Stayed two separate nights away that weren't planned, due to work, first night lovely comfortable bed and great shower, second night in a different room on top floor, water pressure to shower was awful and bed was so uncomfortable that it left me with back pain.
- Old windows let a lot of noise and cold through.

Breakfast goodEvening meal ok
Road outside shut off took an hour to find how to get to carpark eventually going down a no entry road would have been nice if we had been advised on booking.Room tired dust everywhere bath dirty not too nice.Went out in the evening noone on reception when we came back at 9pm and door lockedStaff were in bar chatting so didn't hear the bell
Excellent breakfast, comfortable room
Water in shower not very hot
The staff were helpful and pleasant.
This was our first time in the UK. We thought the hotel we booked had the conveniences we're used to in the U.S.1. Entrance to the hotel is not accessible. No ramps. We had to lift our heavy luggage up the stairs.2. The hallway to get to our room also had multiple one to two steps in between and so we had to keep lifting our luggage instead of just rolling it all the way to the room.3. Breakfast buffet was not worth the ₤13 each that my cousin and I paid. It was actually horrible. We must have been "late" for the breakfast hours because when I tried to get a cup of coffee, there was nothing left in the dispenser and one of the servers wasn't even accommodating to give me just one cup of brewed coffee from the kitchen. She sounded very rude and unfriendly as well.4. Our room was located right next door to some kind of road construction that was ongoing throughout the week. It would've been nice to have been informed at the front desk beforehand and be given the option to move to another room. Unfortunately, we had to keep the windows open to get some cooler air.5. There was no air-conditioning; there was only a small fan available. I heard from one of the guests that they had to buy their own fan for their room. I guess we were "lucky" we even had one?6. The shower drain was clogged with hair and a piece of hard plastic when we first got there. Not sure why that was not caught by housekeeping if the room was pre-cleaned before our arrival.
Could feel the history and they were pet friendly, I also thought the linen was super clean and crisp.

Everything about my stay was exceptionally good but especially the welcome given to my dog. This is the most pet friendly hotel I have ever stayed in! Well done!
During your planned refurbishment putting electrical plug sockets either side of the beds, with USB ports if possible, would be a very good idea.
The rooms were lovely and price is spot on! Seaview options. Staff were lovely and are really passionate about ensuring and nice stay.
Stains on carpets and toilets are not wide enough for wheel chair access. Definitely need bigger wheelchair accessible room.
The staff are brilliant! Honest and friendly. Well done ?
Needs a refurb, sheet was filthy, went to reception to be given a clean one and told to change it myself ?. Mental ?
The hotel was so welcoming, water bowls and Christmas snacks out for dogs, staff super friendly. Free parking nearby and my standard room had a beautiful sea view. Such a lovely old building too right on the seafront opposite the pier. Breakfast was lovelyA real surprise
The location along the channel coast is incredible. My view was terrific.
The entire facility looks very tired. Carpeting is worn. Windows are drafty and hard to operate. There are no electrical outlets next to the bed. Elevators are claustrophobic.
Breakfast
The place damp old no hot water no heating wind coming into room not clean
Excellent location, friendly helpful staff. We appreciate that this is an old building where the décor is tatty in places but the bedroom could have been cleaner, i.e. more dust free, although the bedding and towels were spotlessly clean. More choice with the continental breakfast, cheeses, etc. and two vegetarian choices on the set dinner menu would be ideal. Would recommend booking a sea view room, we had a lovely view of the pier.Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to visiting again.
Walking distance to the pier, town and shopping centre 10 minutes away so great location.
A few lightbulbs broken needing to be replaced. Not a proper shower just a shower head connected to taps in bath.
