About
Looking out to sea over Broadstairs’ Viking Bay, the Royal Albion has a magnificent location, on the seafront, yet also close to the heart of the town. The Royal Albion was originally built in 1760 and Charles Dickens was a regular visitor. The famous Bleak House, Dickens’ home in Broadstairs, is within sight. The rear gardens lead out onto the town’s seafront promenade, with direct access to the sandy beaches. All of the 21 rooms are en suite and each room has satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Each room has a view of the historic town or of the bay. Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the entire hotel. A generous and tasty full English breakfast is included in the bed and breakfast price.

The staff were amazing.
The alarm going on till gone12 but that wasnt the hotels fault.Having a dog being on the top floor wasnt great because needed to get out for toilet breaks. Would have preferred lower level....
Staff couldn't be more helpful. Room was bright and clean and superb breakfast.
No lift and we were on the 3rd floor but we knew if was stairs only and we were fit enough to climb them. Also meant we could burn off a bit of breakfast!
Superb sea-view room, quiet, with just the sound of the waves. Watched the sunrise while having a cuppa in bed. Good selection of freshly cooked-to-order items for breakfast. Great pressure in the shower.
Being told at breakfast that the fresh fruit at the buffet was "for display only". Memory foam mattress on the bed.
Location, room, view
Room was very hot during night and bathroom a little small
Great location with lovely views over Viking Bay in a street with good choice of places to eat, pedestrian sea promenade giving easy access to beachExcellent breakfasts with very good serviceFriendly staff and comfortable rooms and beds
No parking but large paying open air car park only 5 minutes walk from hotel
Breakfast was good, room was very nice, location was very good, over all very good, staff were good
The dinner was not so good, my pie was hard and over cooked, only complaint
Comfortable, spacious, stylish well fitted out room overlooking the street. Decent plumbing. Good breakfast. Tea/coffee in room and I think I remember a nice biscuit. Pleasant bar, restaurant, café and terrace areas downstairs. Staff helpful. The hotel has kerb appeal both from the town and the sea sides and the location could hardly be better. You feel like you've chosen the right place to stay if you're going to stay in Broadstairs.
The corridors and winding stairs could probably do with redecorating, but, the budget has gone to the rooms which seem almost from a different Hotel. No aircon, which most of the year no issue, but, in summer on warmer nights with the windows open high street side rooms are probably noisy - and that's when you'll be paying most for those rooms. Nearest parking is 150m away, no issue for us, but maybe for some.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I was helped by the lovely Lucy to take my bags up to our top floor room. Was greeted and very pleased with the beautiful, comfortable clean sea view room.
Nothing!!!
I loved the pretty, fresh decor and very generous size of my bright and comfortable room. The temperature was just right too - gently warmed but not too much. I especially loved the standalone bath that I availed of as a rare treat.I also loved what I could see of the sea from my room and that I could hear the sound of the waves. The breakfast was very good. Especially a standout eggs florentine.
The room was sold to me on Booking.com as a balcony room but didn't actually have direct access to a/the balcony. One would have to exit by the fire escape door to access the communal balcony, which you wouldn't mind so much but this wasn't at all clear and didn't feel 'allowed'. Only confirmed as an access option on departure by asking check out staff. Also the aforementioned view of the sea was quite obstructed. Deluxe room but not a deluxe view - there are much better views of Viking Bay from other, standard seaview rooms in this hotel.
This was my second stay at this very comfortable hotel with its lovely friendly staff. I can recommend going in winter, when the nicest rooms are available and the atmosphere really relaxed. With a breakfast room overlooking the sea and a big bar/lounge area with a terrace and a view, it really does feel like a home-from-home.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect.
The hotel was larger than expected and the breakfast included in the price was excellent quality and value for money. Staff were very friendly .
People shouting outside the hotel which could be heard with window shut at 12am and 1.30am .There is no lift which wouldn't usually be a problem for me but I have a bad knee at present.
Location
Being building site renovations carpet tatty in halls Rude cudyomwf in pm meal nk back up meant to be kid friendly earn customer told grand daughter to be quiet funding song just as leaving restaurant customers told to be quiet Msnsger ushering us out not supportive
The staff were very good and apologetic about our trauma and the manager said he would refund our 1night that we didn't stay but we haven't been refunded yet
The room was far too hot and noisyWe couldn't turn the heating off and we couldn't sleep also the street noise was awful so we left after 1 nights stay and the night porter wasn't very helpful at all
Lovely, conveniently located hotel on the beachfront with helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend.
Well located hotel overlooking the sea and harbour at Viking Bay, Broadstairs. Very comfortable but the hotel was in the midst of a refurbishment which meant it was probably not looking quite at its best. For example, walls were being filled and repainted as we were there. But the bedroom has been completed and was nice. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and an OK restaurant for other meals (although Broadstairs has a massive choice of places to eat, even in the winter).
Nothing really, apart from the ongoing refurbishment which was mildly irritating! But that will be over soon, presumably.
Staff polite, professional and accommodating. Lovely vibe.
Woken very early by what sounded like bottle bank being emptied?
