King Charles Hotel

We booked a shared bathroom but were upgraded to a room with an ensuite. Breakfast was included and was good. Staff were really lovely and seemed happy to be there. A big car park and close to what we needed.

Everything. I have never paid £49 for a night and breakfast for two before. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. I also enjoyed the champions league game at the reception

Good staff, a lot better than I expected. I will be using this hotel again.

It's a tired hotel, needs some modernisation but worth the price.

This is a fabulous family hotel in beautiful location with direct bus links into Gillingham High Street and Chatham Bus Station. I liked that buses were regular as my 7 year old GranSon who has SEND absolutely loved the journeys we took with our one day bus pass. The hotel was comfortable, friendly staff who remembered us from previous visits. The breakfasts were delicious as well as dinner on the premises. Beds were comfy with good selection of beverages.

The weather

Superb aquriums, really makes for a chill atmosphere that says the people running the hotel care. Great staff, very friendly. Good bar and restaurant. Very spatious rooms with a good view. Clean and neat.

Needs new beds in the room we stayed in room 104. But I would definitely stay again.

Hotel is a little tired but clean and totally acceptable balance of price and cleanliness/features.I never had time for breakfast but they did offer take away sandwiches as I was away early, and receptionist was nice and friendly

The cooked breakfast was not great… cold plates with a meal the size of a child’s. Cheap tacky red and brown sauce…with a rolling toaster that has seen better days

The room not smelling of damp as soon as I walked in…. Very dated room with 3 x Zed beds. Light beaming in from under the door and the constant door banging in the early hours of the morning

The hotel is warm, comfortable & clean. The staff are all really friendly too. Breakfast is included in the price & is very reasonable, which is great.

Could do with bigger cups/mugs in the room for the tea/coffee.The car park entrance & first part of the car park need some serious attention as they are unsightly & not at all welcoming.

Welcoming feel like receptionist has a problem as i complained about another guest speaking loudly and inappropriarely when i stayed before .Also first time ever no towels in room Something wrong with toilet too which i made morning reception aware she was very kind and apologised

Staff are fabulous! They are helpful and smiley. Reception , Bar and breakfast team were all lovely. Nice crisp sheets, clean room, lovely brekkie.

The decor is old fashioned but this isn’t a problem as it is clean and all functions well. With the exception of one of our twin beds which had an old mattress and the springs had gone which made it very uncomfortable and squeaky.

It was very quiet in the evening, we could see the fireworks of Chatham from the window. The breakfast was great and fresh as usual.

The phone rang in our room in the morning but there was no reason for it, a bit strange.The bathroom was not as clean as other times I went to this hotel. Maybe the 31st evening is not the best time as there might be less staff. However we did not need any assistance during our stay so it went relatively okay.
