Games room closed. Only reason we booked this hotel was for the games room
The breakfast was lovely and the room was a good size
Room was abit warm
Extremely disappointed with our stay at the Royal Hotel. Upon arrival, I was given a code for my room, but when I entered, it was clear it had not been cleaned after the previous guests. On top of that, there were stains on the towels and bedding, which is completely unacceptable.Other family members who also booked rooms had similar issues and were very disappointed. One family member had to move rooms four times due to ongoing problems. Overall, the cleanliness and organisation were far below what we expected. I would not recommend staying here unless standards significantly improve.
Cleanliness and rudeness of staff at evening meal.
Breakfast was good.Hotel could do with updating but stayed in worse so not too worried. Just a short break love Skegness even in winter
Updating
the price . reception staff were friendly.
the hotel was very old. needs lots of repairs. it was not clean kettle in room., spoons in room, water bottle at the table all dirty. Breakfast was not good quality. Sea view was actually flat room where people went to smoke and window so dirty impossible to see out
Staff were very helpful good breakfast
Our room was cold although we had a radiator in room it was next to the door and never gave off much heat as the weather was very cold and the duvet on the bed was very thin
Comfy bed . Nice breakfast
Bathroom abit tired ,
Breakfast was nice
Dirty rooms Ceilings a mess Toilet downstairs all collapsed ceiling on the floorSome Staff unfriendly Noise from room to room bad Codes too doors too complicated and noisy
Location, history.
Cold room as windows didn’t fit properly.
Location Food was ok although had to wait a while.
Cleanliness in many areas of the hotel.Outside areas needs a good tidy and clean first impressions countThreadbare carpetsCommunication between staffThis hotel needs money spending on it to bring it upto standards.
Hotel is lovely, clean and comfortable beds. Quiet rooms, decent breakfast with plenty of choice, great value for money. Very close to all amenities.
Staff were very friendly, value for money. Rooms were a generous size .. the hotel looks a little dated, but I liked this as it adds to its character. Lovely gardens outside, which one the summer are great to sit in. Location was good, not too far out , just a little walk into the town. Breakfast on the morning was great, plenty of choices, from hot selection as well as fruit / yogurts and cereal. Unlimited juices tea n coffee. I would definitely stay here again!
Only a small issue.... It was too hot! We had to turn off the radiators in the bedroom, which wasn't an issue. I'm sure I would have commented if it was too cold! Lol
The day we departed
Spider climbed over me and woke me, screws sticking out floor grip, lots of TLC needed
Spacious room
Everything else:Windows whistled with the wind, mattresses were old, room and bathroom needed lots of TLC.Breakfast was basic with sausages being cheap
Breakfast and location good
A bit shabby and was noisy on and off at night , and that was in a quiet time of the year
Arrived early, but still let us in, the room had every thing we needed, shower/toilet, kettle, tv. room was fine for 3 days May be small if staying longer.
Nothing i didn't like, shower was very hot or cold took a bit of adjustment, the place it's self was starting to look a bit dated,a new stair carpet and a coat of pant here and there, but for the price, not a problem .
Location, breakfast, warm. Nice to see restoration rather than modernisation.
Nothing, a very nice hotel
Location, breakfast, warm. it’s nice to see somewhere restored rather than modernised.
Nothing, a very nice hotel
Lovely place. Staff went above and beyond. We arrived when it was snowing. We arrived early. Had a coffee in the bar area. Lovely place to sit and relax. Staff checked us in. Bedroom and bathroom was spotless. Kettle with tea coffee and milk. Breakfast was faultless. Everything you could wish for. All fresh and piping hot. Lots of choice. All needs catered for.
Don't listen to any negative reviews. We came with an open mind. This hotel is unique. Many beautiful original features. Yes dated in parts. Dusty in places. But the staff go above and beyond. It's lovely and homely and very warm. The bed was the best and most comfortable we've ever had in a hotel. We slept brilliantly.
