About

In a wooded valley 10 minutes’ walk from St Austell town, The Waterwheel Inn is surrounded by 1.5 acres of grounds. It has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site, and a full cooked breakfast is provided each morning. Guests can enjoy exploring the gardens and ponds. With attractive décor and a flat-screen TV, rooms at The Waterwheel Inn all benefit from facilities for making tea and coffee. Each has its own shower room, and some rooms also retain old wooden beams. Food is served in the elegant dining room, where you can enjoy a 3-course meal or select options from the à la carte menu. Dishes include chargrilled steaks, fresh fish and traditional favorites. The Waterwheel Inn is surrounded by charming fishing villages. The Eden Project is nearby, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan can be reached in 15 minutes by car. Lands End is 41 miles away.

We had a great stay at the waterwheel. We were made very welcome. The food was superb. My wife is gluten free, which was absolutely no problem at all. Would definitely recommend without any hesitation.

the staff were really friendly, helpful and professional. the meals were well priced and excellent. breakfast was cooked to order and was therefore fresh and tasty. the rooms were cosy and the bed very comfortable. the gardens were a pleasure to stroll through. although next to the road there was little or no traffic noise

The polite staff were always willing to help. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a lovely view over the garden. The breakfast was substantial, and there were a number of choices. The garden was stunning and gad a good path through it.

There wasn't anything major. I think some of the chairs in the restaurant and bar stalls are showing some wear. For my husband, who is a little unsteady on his feet, it would have been great to have a slip mat in the shower. To be honest, everything else was great and made these seem insignificant.

Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice Dog facilities were fine

Disappointed with St Austell nothing thereEnough said

    8JacquelinePosted on: 9-1-2024

The quality of the breakfast was excellent and the conservatory with views of the grounds a lovely place to start the day. I also liked that there were mugs in the rooms rather than the tiny cups and saucers hotels usually provide. The room and bathroom were both generous with plenty of plug sockets in the right places. However, the best thing about the hotel is that every single member of staff was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I would recommend and stay there again.

I would have preferred that dogs weren't allowed in the dining areas.
