Cons -
- Mattress sunk in the middle room 32
- Plumbing problem in first room. Moved promptly to another room, missing towels, heating turned off. Worn out mattress (which we only discovered when we went to bed), swapped next day. Constant noise from air con units at the back of the function room. Yet again there were items on the breakfast menu that were not available. Apart from the perpetual missing 'berry brioche' from the breakfast menu this was not typical of our past experience at this hotel, which has normally been positive.
- It wasn’t very clean. There were several maintenance issues - broken towel rail, broken shower curtain, radiator faulty, shower head leaking, etc. The front door was wedged open all night which was a security risk. The staff were polite but quite casual and it felt like customers were an inconvenience. I had high expectations for the food but this wasn’t very good - chicken at dinner very hard and dry; breakfast not great quality and lots unavailable, not much choice at the continental buffet.

Convenient location. Parking was good. It was very quiet which surprised me given it was attached to a pub and on a main road.

We had dinner on the Friday evening, wonderful service and fantastic food, and the live music on the night in the hall was free and me and my daughter were invited to go into the hall after our meal. Which was fantastic for us both we danced then night away. The staff are wonderful and in particular the lady that served us dinner madison was the name on our receipt so I do hope I have the right name, she also served us from the bar on the Thursday evening as well, I was happy to tip because they gave me and my daughter a personal experience and it makes us want to stay more often in the hotel and come back again to eat. The staff are competent and knowledgeable and always go above and beyond for all customers.
I suppose not having someone man the reception at the hotel but there was staff on it in the mornings, however come afternoon and evening time we had to go to pub for queries, I didn’t like that they had no bath matts even though on the signs on the bathroom it says to ask for one if needed, went into pub to ask as nobody on reception, and was told I can just use a towel instead for the bath, so I wasn’t impressed with that.. it needs updating if you don’t stock them or have themIn use.
The location, the staff and food. The bed and room facilities.
Some things in the room were a little tired.
Friendly staff offering guidance and suuport whe requested. Thank you.
Very dark in the room and the dining area. Had to switch on too many lights to get a decent light level. False economy putting low level lighting as the main room light.
Room was spacious, clean and nice decor. Little touches on the room made it more appreciated.
Outside walkway to the restaurant in the rain
The room was quiet and comfy
The food in the pub at the front of the hotel left a bit to be desired
Staff were really friendly. The rooms were a very high quality & super comfortable.
The WiFi from the pub doesn’t quite extend to the hotel, phone signal very limited there too.
Clean room and bathroom
Noisy guests next door, but that’s not the hotel’s fault

Great value for money. The pub and restaurant were also great and we had a fantastic meal in the evening and an amazing breakfast in the morning.
Everything was great
The room, breakfast, staff, location, price were all first rate. We were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and she was thrilled.
WiFI was a bit unpredictable.
Excellent friendly staff comfy room and excellent food 10mins from Camberley Theatre
Convenient, quiet location just off the A30. Rooms were well furnished and catered for. Camberley less than 10 min drive. Good for an overnight or quick business trip.
Room security was a slight concern. Hotel reception wasn't attended so then had to go to main bar to check in. Entrance to ground floor rooms were easily accessible without the need for a key card.
Staff very friendly, room was...
We had room 15 and the heater clicked all night keeping me awake, turn it off and the room went cold quickly.
Well appointed room with a comfortable bed. Nice touches like the complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, plus the offer of fresh milk if we wanted it.
Prefer a proper shower rather than one over the bath with plastic shower curtains
Room is beautiful and comfortable and well worth the price. We had our dog with us and everything from check-in to check-out was great.
I know The Ely well but had never stayed in the accommodation and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the hotel, especially because of the cost! Room was really large, nice decor and fully equipped with everything you need. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very good value for money!
Room service, particularly for breakfast would be a really nice touch but not absolutely necessary. Room card always seems to stop working each day around 3pm which is a bit annoying when the reception is not manned although if you call the number on booking confirmation, staff come very quickly. Radiator was also super loud when it turned on, it woke me up both nights of the stay although I appreciate the room being warm and cosy so not the biggest deal
