Pros +
- Located next to the hospital, which is why I booked it.
- We were a bit dubious as after we had booked we were told not to go there, but we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who was very helpful and friendly. Our room was great, although a little warm and the facilities really good and clean. We did not book breakfast and we realised it would be too late for dinner, but we went to the bar and were very surprised and happy at the size of the room which was on two levels and very comfortable
- The reception lady
Cons -
- This hotel is a bit old and shabby. It needs some urgent TLC, my bathroom door was waterlogged and the double glazing needs replacing as the noise from the road was quite loud. Having said all that, the Horizon centre attached really made the stay nicer, a lovely swim and sauna.
- Nothing !!
- Unfortunately, several issues made our experience far from satisfactory.Food Quality and Menu: The menu and overall food quality were outdated and in need of improvement as it was undercooked.Room Amenities: Even budget accommodations typically provide basic amenities like a hairdryer, yet our room lacked this.Special Request Ignored: We traveled three hours for our son’s Neurodevelopmental assessment, which happened to fall on our 14th wedding anniversary. I made three separate requests—first through Booking.com, then directly with the hotel—to arrange a small note to surprise my husband. Despite assurances, this request was dismissed on the day, with staff stating it was not something they "usually do." This lack of effort was disheartening.Heating and Window Issues: The radiator in our room was broken and could not be turned off, making the room uncomfortably hot. When we attempted to cool down by opening the window, we found that it, too, was broken.Maintenance Issues: We also noticed the leak in the landing windows and a burst pipe in the reception area, indicating a lack of proper upkeep in the hotel.Given these issues, I believe some form of compensation is warranted, as our stay did not meet basic expectations for comfort and service. I would appreciate a response addressing these concerns and outlining what steps will be taken to prevent similar experiences for future guests.

but the room was very poor. shower was very small triangular in shape and bed was 2 single beds joined together.
I like the size of the rooms and the receptionist
It was very cold and worn
The bed was comfortable.
The property itself is located on a busy A road. The noise from the road was very loud waking me up early hours in the morning. The breakfast the eggs was under cooked it is a small budget buffet breakfast. The hotel is outdated and the has this horrible damp smell. There was also a leaks in the lobby that i had to report to lady at the front desk. The smell is clearly from people walking through the old carpet wet from the pool. After all it was directly in front of her.
Friendly staff and very near hospital where my son has been since January
Give it a miss book somewhere else
