Friendly staff, spacious rooms, plenty parking, good food

Mattress was a bit lumpy, must be due to replaced very soon.

The location was ideal to visit family in Hook. The hotel was clean, very comfortable, the room had tea and coffee making facilities, bottles of water were also provided. The modern bathroom has a large walk in shower rather than a bath, which we prefer. For anyone with mobility issues who would prefer a ground floor room then they do have these. However there are 3 steps down to the bedrooms and as an old grade 2 property full disability access is not possible. The owner is very friendly and chatted to us about the history of the property. The breakfasts are excellent and of a really good quality. We would certainly stay again if we come back to the area, excellent value for money.

Good location , extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable staff, Dinner was excellent with a great selection of food and drinks. Breakfast exceeded my expectations once again a good choice of food and beverages.

Not anything to do with hotel but the road noise is excessive.

We got a very warm welcome when we arrived at The New Inn, the room which I booked was excellent as was the bathroom with a super walk in shower also loved the tiles, not your usual white but green with a palm print feature wall in the shower.We had 2 excellent evening meals in the restaurant and also breakfast each morning great choice of cooked to order menu.Will definitely be staying here again.

From the welcome, to the beautiful room, to the very comfortable bed, the waterfall shower, the freshly cooked to order breakfast, the professionalism of this lovely place shines through. It is without doubt an excellent place to stay and we will be back soon. In fact we are already looking forward to it.

Absolutely nothing. It is all first rate.

Room was big and lots of room. Bed was super comfortable and big slept like a queen (we are going to now get a new one) Breakfast was great locally source very tasty and haven’t ever had eggs that are that fresh from a hotel stay. Will definitely be back xx

Very noisy road,not pleasant when sitting outside and noisy from an early hour disturbing sleep

I just can't find a thing to criticise with the New Inn.  My hubby and I travel up from the West Country frequently and have stayed at many hotels from the most humble to a few more luxury.  New Inn is up there with the best.Booking in and out  on line makes things simple.  The room we had was large, cosy, warm, pristine clean and beautifully decorated with matching furniture that was in keeping with the age of the building.  The large radiator actually worked (many haven't leaving us freezing cold) and the shower room was modern, again pristine with a fantastic rainwater shower, white fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, tissues and a heated towel rail.   Attention to detail in the hotel is amazing.  They've thought of everything.Being in the country, you get an amazingly peaceful sleep in a super comfy bed and awake to a gorgeous view of sheep in the field opposite.We didn't have dinner as we met with friends and family but if breakfast is to go by, then dinner must be good.  We have previously dined in the hotel when we lived in the area but had no idea the accommodation was so good.  Plus it didn't break the bank, unlike some others.  Can't recommend enough.  Congratulations to the owners for getting everything right.Sent from my Galaxy

Lovely country pub with rooms. Staff were lovely, room clean and comfortable does need a little painting but did not take away the rooms comfort.

The staff were super friendly, nothing seemed too much for them. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was incredibly clean.The food was excellent, with a great selection to choose from and good value for money. The staff checked regularly if anything else was required.Breakfast service started at 7am, as I was travelling for work I had to leave by 7.15am, in order that I did not miss out they took my order the night before and arranged for it to be prepared prior to the start of service and it was with me bang on 7am.

There was a problem with the radiators one night and they were making so much noise it was impossible to sleep

Unfortunately I spilt coffee!! Because I’m extremely clumsy! I cleaned up with towels from the bathroom, as I didn’t know what else to use. This resulted in an £85 cleaning charge, which was I thought steep. I would like to say it’s the first time I’ve spilt a drink in a hotel room! It isn’t, but is the first time I’ve been charged a cleaning fee! Maybe I’ve just been lucky in the past, but it was just a coffee stain.

Breakfast was delicious, prepared fresh with additional continental options. Service was friendly throughout my stay, from the minute I checked in until checking out. Nice addition of biscuits and bottled water to the room which isn't often standard in most places now.

Clear and cosy room. Lovely products in the shower and friendly housekeeping.

It was advertised that there was a bath in the room and that wasn't the case, when I asked it seemed none of the rooms had Baths.

Very homely establishment. Staff were extremly polite and helpful. Great food in the restauraunt and wonderful breakfast. Looking forward to my next visit.

Breakfst was good. Plenty of choice but items should have been replaced when they ran out. inadequate utencils , needed a butter knife every day.

The location was beautiful, green and quiet - lovely surroundings. The rooms were wonderful, beautifully clean and comfortable. All the staff I met were warm and welcoming, and there was a generally calm and relaxed atmosphere. We had an evening meal which was wonderful, and the breakfast was exceptional!
