Ease of location

It was impossible to watch the television from the bed, as there was no chair that could be moved easily to watch the television. The background music in the restaurant and entrance was annoying.

The room

Attitude of female receptionist contemptuous Beans, scrambled eggs and cold Vegetarian sausages? ? croquettes. white inside, onion maybe Quorn or potatoes. Not pleasant. Left but no concern from receptionist Dog friendly? No bowls, blanket provided.

Good location

Given a twin when double was booked.Window could not be fully closed allowing freezing draft and noise into room

Easy location. Great for accessing transport routes after my stay.Staff were excellent especially when I needed some ladies sanitary items unexpectedly.Really quiet hotel.

The room was a little cold. I found it difficult to figure out how to get the air con to heat. Maybe a few extra instructions would be great.

The breakfast was good the staff were attentive

The heating didn't work in the room so the room was freezing cold for the whole stay

Always have a pleasant stay,stayed here about 4 times now,great staff and the breakfast is lovely very clean rooms

We enjoy staying at this hotel for convenience. The welcome from reception is always good. The size of the room is perfect and the bed is always comfortable. The ambient temperature of the room was spot on. We like the seating area around reception where we could sit and have some food and drink in the evening.

Upon entering the room, there was a horrible smell. The smell seemed to be sewage coming from the shower. This did jot go away and we only stayed 1 night. We have stayed here previously and always enjoy staying at this hotel. But on this occasion it wasn't up to our expectations. I am an IHG member.Being vegetarian, it would have been nice to have some vegetarian sausages (even if it was something I could have requested and wait for) but there was only meat sausages and bacon. I was left with just scrambled eggs, baked beans and tomatoes. I messaged the hotel prior to staying to advise them we had a little well behaved dog. The message I received back said there was a charge of £10 but I was charged £15 at reception even though I showed them the response. They tried to explain that that was an automated message from Booking.com and there had been a price update. I reluctantly paid £15.

Room was quiet, clean and tidy. Breakfast was OK. Location for Shrewsbury Town centre was too far out.

Hotel cancelled the booking at 3pm on the day we were supposed to be checking in. Apparently, Booking.com.had overbooked the hotel, leaving no rooms available. We had no choice but to rebook at another hotel, but had to pay above the usual rate as we were booking on the day. This will certainly make

Had a job to get air con as we wanted it.Bad smell from shower drainage. Needs cleaning & bleach!

Not as tired as other Holiday inn express hotels that we have stayed at. Breakfast,as always, is disappointing unless you know what to expect.

I didn't like being contacted 3 weeks after my stay to ask for payment that should have been taken at check-in

Stock on bar very limited. Having to book Taxi's to go to centre,

I have stayed here many times when I visit Shrewsbury on business. The rooms are getting shabby and need refurbishement.
