    Pros +

    • Clean , comfortable and very friendly
    • Location and staff. Matt is amazing
    • Perfect location in the centre. Staff were very friendly and a very nice breakfast.

    Cons -

    • Tired old. However very clean. Taps n plumbing ???
    • Lack of parking and the price of nearby parking expensive if you are parking up for any length of time park and ride 10 minutes away is best option. Parking attendants very keen.
    • A bit noisy in the evening; they do karaoke and live music but they shut down by 2100; a small price to pay for a lovely stay.

Lovely old hotel right downtown; steps away from great sights and pubs. Very hospitable staff.

A bit noisy in the evening; they do karaoke and live music but they shut down by 2100; a small price to pay for a lovely stay.

Comfy bed. Good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. All good.

    No negative feedback

Really nice old building and serves decent beer as well, was there mid week so pretty quiet. Decent breakfast.

The up the passage bathroom is a pain though reflected in the price. Room four could do with a chair. Only 1 hour for breakfast is slightly constraining.

Breakfast was ok cumberland sausage not nice egg not cooked ate bacon and beans dissapointed location was not 5 min walk from car park and very expensive on top of room price plus staff fobbed us off with you can got ticket online you cant so have to get up early to put another expensive ticket on before 8am then walk back uphill to hotel

Breakfast !! Carparking !! Staff not helpful !! Wifi not good!!!Came back to have a drink at 930 to find pub completely shut including gate across entrance surely if guests are staying should be able to have a drink in bar as is a hotel and a paying guest

The location is nearly in the centre of Shrewsbury. The room was pleasantly warm and also the bed comfy and both being a nice size . It was a real bonus to be able to open the window for fresh air during my stay when it was warm. The option to purchase a small meal in the evening was really good, the spaghetti Bolognese I bought as a small meal was really good value and was an appetising meal. And the stay was good value for two nights.

Breakfast during the week was only until 9am.

Didn’t like the separate bathroom. Not shown to room and where bathroom was. Keys very tricky to use, had to seek help a couple of times. Breakfast only available between 8 and 9. Far too limiting.

Beautiful period property. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very nice bar. Cosy and traditional

    Nothing. We were very happy

Very happy with the room and breakfast was great, staff were nice and really good location

    9MrPosted on: 4-4-2025

The breakfast was good, the staff were lovely. The only issue was the amount of stairs up to the room and it being very hot with no way to turn down the radiator. We slept with the window wide open and the fan on in the onsuite. Everywhere was clean and tidy.

    As above

Great location in town centre. Very quiet (non music night). Friendly staff and welcome, provided secure storage for my bicycle. Good size room and bathroom. Nice breakfast included

Bed not very comfortable (cheap mattres and pillow). Noise from other guests in corridor and stairs

    10NicolaPosted on: 4-1-2025

Staff were lovely, food amazing and good price, hotel was clean and nothing was too much trouble, location was good too

The Old Post Office had lots of charm and character. Although it was in the middle of the old part of Shrewsbury it was very quiet, you could sit out on the court yard and have a drink and natter a nd not hear anything. The room was quaint, clean , the bed was really comfy, there was everything you would need, plenty of teas and coffee in the room. The meal we had in the restaurant was superb, the barman was really nice and helpful.Breakfast was brilliant, the lady who served us was helpful and very cheerful, couldn't do enough The staff are lovely here.

Everything very clean, comfortable and super friendly staff. Delicious evening meal and great value for money 2 meals for £16. Breakfast was freshly cooked by Wendy and a great selection. Would highly recommend.

Nice location. Bit untidy. Value for money at £52 quid a night but not the cleanest if am honest.

Cleanliness. Staff not very helpful. Asked for a taxi very rude. Came back asked if there was any food available or point me in the right direction to find some. Just ignored. Went the toilet someone had taken my golf brolly. Not very nice.
