Pros +
- Well appointed rooms , attentive staff . Good breakfast.
- Lovely staff, rooms were beautifully decorated, good breakfast
- It was very comfortable, the staff were great and the food was very good
Cons -
- No spa or gym - out of action . Poor evening food , -warmed up supermarket standard. Public areas showing signs of wear.
- We had to walk outside in the rain for our evening meal, terrible pots in the approach driveway
- The room was a bit grotty despite saying we had been upgraded to a newer room. The hallway ceiling and walls had paint falling off. Our bedroom felt dirty and could constantly feel dust or dirt on our feet, especially when getting into bed. The spa was also being re-done while there which they didn’t tell us until after we had booked.

Location was great for what we needed.

location
shabby carpets in most corridors. waa given triple family room initially which they said was my upgrade. 2nd roo. terrible decor and shabby. 3rd room offerred was ok. coukdnt understand receptionist's accent so misheard breakfast timesand missed breakfast.
I liked the fact the staff were welcoming. Room was nice and warm and shower lovely.
The service for food was slow and quality of food not so great. Would have been nice to have healthier options. The spa was closed when we arrived so I cannot give feedback on this.
Felt very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean The staff were very polite and helpful
Very warm couldn’t turn the heating off in the room
Location - staff friendly
Very noisy - gutter dripping outside the window, hard floors so you could here people moving around. Poor quality towels. TV had to sign into amazon to watch anything as couldn't get main channels. Breakfast poor offering.
Location fantastic, restraunt downstairs , And spa
Mattres very uncomfortable, thin pillows and weak WiFi as no signal.on phone due to location.
The room decor is absolutely stunning and befitting of the hotel. Think, modern hunting lodge and you can't go far wrong. The general areas are clean and decoration in keeping with the hotel. The Receptionist was knowledgeable ans took time to explain everything in detail including the arrangements for dinner and breakfast. I even had GF treats left in the room to enjoy at my leisure.Restaurant wasn't busy, but enough space to spread-out if needed. Gluten free menu available, although hard to understand - it does need to be made clearer, as some one who has a GF diet. I ended up having steak (which was very well prepared) because it was the safest thing on the menu.
Only a couple of things come to mind really as the hotel really is lovely and I'd definitely stay again, but, in the room there needs to be an ironing board, especially as an iron was provided. I had to iron my clothes on the bed, with it being the biggest surface area.As mentioned, the GF menu needs to be clearer and no left to chance. Either create a separate GF menu, or have one which is very clear what is possible. There were hand-written stars next to the food items, but when questioning the restaurant staff, you could clearly see they weren't confident in their menu knowledge. For breakfast, it was clear the hotel could cater for a GF cooked breakfast, which is great, but there was no bread available. Although the breakfast was plentiful, I left feeling disappointed, I couldn't even have a slice of toast.Overall a lovely hotel, which only needs a couple of minor tweaks. You either offer something or don't - you can't afford to be half in i.e. iron, but no ironing board, GF menu, but no clear choices or toast a breakfast!
Well situated , very comfortable bedrooms . Staff friendly and very helpful
Lift was out of order which isn’t good for anyone with mobility problems. No lights at the back of the hotel where the electric charge point is. Only 1 charge point which isn’t very good given the number of people who now use EV cars
Staff were friendly
Card only Bar, flat pint of lager.Had to request clean towels and water, tea etc.Room was very dated.Hot water flow on sink was poor.Room and bathroom was dirty, hairs in bathroom, old bread stick on a chair, dead insects on floor, had not been hoovered.Bathmat looked like it crawled in!Spa was in need of repair which was on the schedule, tiles missing in steam room, lockers falling apart, ceiling tiles missing in changing room, sink unit had panels missing. Sauna was not functioning. Tried to book a couples massage to be told this was not available ( although it is advertised!) Also I had seen a review a couple of weeks previous saying they had a couples massage!Children in pool and so called spa area after 6 (nothing against children we have them ourselves)Serious road noise in the premium room we had, cheap secondary glazing did not help at all.I admit I had not even bothered to complain at this point as the stay was already paid for and very unlikely anything could have been done about it. At the end of the day I should not have to request to move room or ask for my room to be cleaned as that is what you pay for apparently... not happyThere are lots more photos but can only add 4!
Lovely little room, tastefully decorated. Although I believe we were lucky, as friends staying at the same time had a very dated and tired room.
The breakfast is not worth eating, poor quality and the tiniest plates and bowls making it very difficult to eat anything.
Friendly, attentive staff. Well priced and lovely food. Reception staff were lovely. Room was really nice.
In need of some renovation work. Carpets and woodwork very old and damaged.
Very nice staff could not be more helpful.
Not too happy with 2 single beds put together and a bath plug that is not a bath plug.
Hotel is located close to some amazing walks and ending the day in a lovely spa, later being served fab food by courteous staff is just what the Dr ordered
Nice room, spa not busy, tasty breakfast buffet. Friendly staff ladies on reception and breakfast. tried to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
Some areas looked a little dated but that isn't a problem. Still 10/10 considering the price.
Use of the spa. Lovely rooms. Friendly and helpful staff.
Evening receptionist 30th Dec very friendly and welcoming. Room was newly decorated and very comfy. Great bed. Loved the pool. Food ok. Breakfast great.
Morning receptionists too busy being important to help guests.
Clean, dinner was better than average.
Wifi didn't work & initial check in staff was quite cold/unhelpful. Breakfast is ok.
