Pros +
- Hotel is modern, clean and staff is really great. It was better than we expected.
- The hotel is lovely. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious and breakfast was lovely with plenty of options to choose from. We would definitely stay again!
- Great family friendly hotel, the family room was great with a double bed and bunk beds. The “watering holes” are handy for snacks and ice. Fridge in the room is always a bonus and lovely lighting in the room, with great viewing windows too. Would happily return!
Cons -
- You can't open windows to have fresh air. :(
- If you are a light sleeper you may be better off booking a second floor room. We were woken at 5:45 on our second night by the children upstairs jumping about. It’s to be expected in a family hotel as I’m sure they were just excited, but if that would bother you, book an upstairs room.

The hotel staff were very welcoming and very helpful.Nothing was too much for them. They made our stay extra comfortable.Even providing an extended checkout, when my young son had a rough night through illness, leading us to wake up late.I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. The cleanliness and comfort of the facilities were excellent. The staff were an absolute credit to making that happen.Thank you to all at Hex.
Perfect traveling with a baby and young childLots of space in the room for pushchair and cot without feeling crowdedGreat facilities in the shared area having access to a microwave
The weather!
Breakfast was good. Room was spacious and staff very helpful.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful, great facilities, breakfast was great! Perfect for families looking to enjoy the wildlife park, great price for a great break
If anything the park views were a little obstructed but nothing to be done about that, still great and nothing else bad to say
Somewhere different rather than a bog standard hotel to stay in with work. Quirky and different. Modern bedroom decor. Staff were great - welcoming, friendly and attentive at both reception and Bistro. Very impressed with them.
Dusty skirting boards in bathroom
It was clean and functional
The food at dinner was excellent - breakfast was all cold and totally unappetising - the bacon was so undercooked that eggs too and the mushrooms didn’t look as though they had been cooked at all
Great hotel at the entrance of the wildlife park, comfortable rooms, well stocked tea tray and nice addition of a fridge in the room.Good bistro serving food from breakfast to dinner.
Good, modern hotel with attached bar/restaurant.
There was no information in the room on its facilities. The heating control was difficult to operate. The bathroom sink plug did not seal, so we couldn't wash easily. We were glad we'd brought slippers as the tiled floor made nocturnal visits to the bathroom cold on the feet!
Modern, clean, good layout with bunk beds separate and off main room.
Nothing to dislike. Only tweaks could be: to add a mirror to main room (only mirror was in bathroom), add a curtain to entrance to main room so that we could watch tv once kids asleep in bunk beds without the light disturbing them.
Great clean family room, fabulous balcony, amazing breakfast, lovely gardens and bonus dinos, the kids loved it all!
Four staff at breakfast chatting, complaining about their jobs, I am sure none of them thought we could hear but we we were the only ones in at 7am, felt like they were a bit redundant as we helped ourselves to everything and they had nothing to do. Also we arrived late night and left early so it was dark and it was sad we didn’t get to see any animals. I probably should have booked a non park side room if I’d worked that out and could have made a little saving there.
*The view was stunning park-side & watching the foxes in the morning was spectacular.
*Dust under cups & on shelves in bathroom *Breakfast staff member rude about ordering from Menu rather than eating the buffet which wasn’t included in our price anyway! Buffet did not have a veggie alternative to meat.
All the staff we spoke to were really friendly. 11am checkout is a nice late checkout so you don't have to rush.
The very expensive family balcony room overlooking the park we paid for actually overlooked a building site more than the park and looked different to the picture on the website. The rooms have no carpets so you can hear every footstep from the room above and for the price, the food is very average. Feels more like a backpacker hotel which may be the feel its going for but felt very bland and basic. If it was half the price I would say it was good value but for what we were charged I'd say it was poor value.
Great location, takes the pressure out of travelling back and forth in one day. Modern, clean and plenty of amenities on site!
I do feel a little disappointed with the upsell for ‘park view’ which mislead me to believe a view of a few animals. Instead it was dinosaurs haha!
Good breakfast plenty of options, can see many animals from park side brilliant for pictures and the little ones
Safe wouldn’t work so couldn’t leave anything of value in the room, this meant having to carry everything about with us wasn’t a lot of items just a little inconvenient, also wouldn’t let me book more than 1 night without booking and paying for separate nights.
Modern fresh look.. friendly staff.. comfortable and well equipped room.. something different
Upgraded to a Parkview room, but to be honest my room just overlooked a picnic area. My room 222 was located next to the lifts . These were very noisy during the night, I kept hearing the lift, announce” doors opening second floor” I suggest this is put on a timer to turn off the announcements. Also the fridge in my room was very noisy. Would come on quite often during the night with a Thud and wake me.
Nice aesthetic, very easy to access and get around, very nice room
View wasn’t great for a park view although hard to complain as we was upgraded free of charge to that room when we arrived, I do think if someone paid for that specific room tho they may be a little disappointed.
Very modern, clean and enhanced room
