    Pros +

    • The owner Adam very kindly drove us to Doncaster racecourse as we couldn't get a taxi. And at this point he didn't know we were staying there. Lovely room, excellent food. Lovely warm friendly pub
    • Clean. I was at the front of the hotel so concerned about the road being busy - but it wasn't too bad and there is double glazing.
    • It was close to the venue of the wedding we were attending. The food in the restaurant was delicious and parking was free.

    Cons -

    • Described as a 'Deluxe Double Room' - Deluxe it was not. Nothing terrible, just nothing special. Bathroom was very small and tired (with a lame electric shower), the room smelled of stale smoke, there was a fridge for fresh milk which was great (but so loud I had to turn it off). The room was decorated nicely, but just lacked some functionality the TV was half behind the wardrobe and not on a extenable arm). And the wifi did not reach to my room.
    • The tv and hairdryer didn’t work. We only had two tea bags for a two night stay which weren’t replaced.
    • Chairs, tables etc being scraped and dragged along the floor. Yes i understand they need to clear down etc but that’s a little too late when guests try trying to sleep. No consideration at all.

The hotel was lovely unfortunately the restaurant was booked for a private function

I was full of cold and it was our wedding anniversary!!

Great location, parking and friendly staff.

We stayed here to be close to Bawtry Hall, which was just a short walk away for a wedding. The property had its own access, so we could come and go as needed. The breakfast was beautiful, and the added extras in the room were such a lovely touch. A very beautiful, warm, and cosy room with a generous amount of space - perfect for getting ready for a wedding!

Always love it here , cute rooms, great location

The shower over the bath in room 4 was not the best ! But overall a lovely room

    9JamesPosted on: 10-1-2025

Although the hotel room was compact, it was very comfortable. We really apprecfiated the little touches that were provided; eg fresh milk, decent sized bedside tables and comfortable bed and pillows.

A little disappointing that there was no option of eating breakfast in the hotel, although this was available elsewhere in Bawtry.

Friendly welcome, good quiet location,Very comfortable and a nice pub underneath.

Quirky place. Steep stairs to first floor so not sure about accessibility. Had to go in to ask about parking which apparently was directly behind the hotel with warning signs about only parking for 30 mins. Allegedly put there to deter casual parkers. Friendly welcome. Room was small and clean and had everything you would expect. Shower was good which is husband's method of rating a place. Would definitely stay again.

This not about what I didn't like but just a couple of observations. First was that the water to the bathroom sink was cold, although the shower was fine. Didn't seem worth mentioning at the time of night it was. Maybe this needs looked at. Second is that I don't like the kettle to be pre-filled with water. I prefer an empty kettle because you don't know how long the water has been in there. As I say, not complaints just observations.

Comfortable stay. Did not have breakfast. Easy access to motorway

    No complaints

Handily placed on the main street.

Shower very small, room was clean but a little tired. Were told breakfast was available, but it wasn’t. Cafe is closed on Monday so had to go out.

Keys for side entrance and room door given incase main door closed of late back, shown to room by staff member. Arrived back around 11.30pm to no hot water - sorted within 10 minutes! Good sized room with bathroom- we had a lovely and deep corner jacuzzi bath and shower. Room had everything you could need including a little jug of milk in the fridge and a hairdryer in the wardrobe. Bed was extremely comfy!!

Bath felt a bit dirty on the base, like soap scum, but this may have been hard water residue so wiped it off and enjoyed my big bath!

The room was nicely decorated and perfectly located. The bar was pleasant and breakfast was tasty and good value.

    The room was quite small

Great staff, very helpful and informative. I was staying for work but still felt very welcome and appreciated. I ate at the restaurant on the Monday evening and was surprised as to how busy the place was, but the food, although not super expensive was very good, especially the Belly Pork starter which had as a side to my burger.

My room was small but not cramped, all the facilities were good including a small fridge.

The barman who let us in and served us was a very nice young man and good at his job

Room was very hot a fan whould be good addition

Location was excellent with car parking available. The evening meal was terrific and the 25% discount an added bonusThe room was a good size and spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfy, resulting in an excellent nights sleep. We can highly recommend Bawtry’s for an overnight stop, it far exceeded our expectations.

No explanation on how to use the shower, we worked it out eventually but maybe a sign on the switch in the bedroom would help travellers like us unfamiliar with the need to turn the power on.

    3MarkPosted on: 8-4-2025

Friendly staff and good food served in the pub for dinner.

Room poorly decorated and maintained. Very limited facilities in kitchenette. Bathroom below expectations.

Very convenient location, mini fridge with fresh milk and complimentary water was a great detail.
