    Great location and staff

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, toilet wasn't clean and told we had a wet room, as my partner is disabled, but it had a shower cubicle

Me and my partner stayed here and we enjoyed the room that we were in. We were mainly just there to sleep as we were out during the day for the majority of the time. Nice room, good price for what was needed and expected. It was in a good location also as we were exploring new areas of the lake district. It had plenty of food choices around and was within a 10-15 minute drive. They do have a restaurant within the hotel but we didn't use it this time.

I don't think there could be anything better. I was satisfied with the hotel room for a couple nights stay.

This is my go-to hotel in Barrow. I've stayed here about 8 times and its always clean, comfortable, staff are lovely and the breakfast is great

    10AnthonyPosted on: 2-2-2026

Our breakfast was delivered to our table by the helpful staff member.

The weather could have been better, but the hotel was always very welcoming.

    8PaulPosted on: 1-31-2026

Nice ambiance and decor, the hotel has been well kept and all areas have been upgraded to maintain a fresh appearance.

Bed was comfortable. Parking onsite is a bonus, and bar area is spacious. Over a week stay, I enjoyed my experience. However, a negative point I felt was with the housekeeping. After requesting a room tidy twice throughout the week, this consisted of fresh towels being left, yet the bed was not remade, sink being left unclean and no re-supply of toiletries or condiments for room, which was a bit of a let down in my opinion. Breakfast was well presented, yet the plates were stone cold and area used was similar and could be better moved into restaurant area in poor weather conditions.

1.Easy check in2. Breakfast and Tea available at hotel 3. Staff where lovely and helpful4. Clean rooms and hotel5. Bar downstairs 6. Dog friendly 7. Big grass area outside hotel for dog

    1. Didn’t put any toilet paper in the bathroom as we ran out had to buy our own after they had cleaned and filled up the rest of the room.

Staff very friendly and helpfull, comfy rooms, good wifi, food good, quiet.

As with everything we all like paying less for more.

Staff were lovely and quiet location

No soft door closers which meant at 12.00 when someone shut a door very loudly my dog barked and was unsettled. Also the attic rooms which I believe are the pet friendly rooms are very warm despite heating in the room being turned off and it being 0 degrees outside. In the summer I imagine they wouldn't be pleasant to stay in

The breakfast was ok but the hot food was sad looking and lukewarm.

    Cold food(cooked breakfast).

    Large open room

Limited internet access/speed. Old TV screen limited selection of channels.

    Enjoyed the evening Sunday roast,

The cobwebs all in the bedroom and on the wall by headboard.i mean severe, it should be standard to high & low dust every time you clean the rooms. My daughter pulled back her bed to reveal 2 dirty tissues with blood on them, now made me gag to be honest, I mean you have no idea which part of the body the blood comes from.was rectified by a worker(not housekeeper) to change bed linen. But it should 100% of never happened.

    8AnnePosted on: 12-31-2025

The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were good. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a great hotel if you have your dog with you.

Not much to mention here. I had a bit of trouble with the lock on my room but that was resolved with a new key.

    6JenniferPosted on: 12-31-2025

    Nice restaurant. Friendly staff.

Bathroom dated. Leaking toilet. Bathroom fan stayed on 24/7 keeping me awake.

    9EmmaPosted on: 12-30-2025

Location was fab, close to everything but beautifully quite and secluded.Breakfast was superb and very good quality I am missing it and great value meaning we could have it a couple of times.Room was fab everything friendly for our dog which is top thing I look for when booking. Will 100% stay again and cant wait our visit was to visit my dad who lives in ulverston we bought him and his wife out for dinner to dunes and they loved it too.Nothing too much trouble which is lovely.

Only criticism nothing mega but when we ate in the bar area it was a tad cooler when eating but other than that absolutely nothing else.
