I love this hotel. Location is perfect, car parking fabulous, food and staff exceptional.
The ethos of a family run hotel… obviously very caring and supportive to their team which gets relayed to guests such as myself…
A fear that hotels such at The Queen cannot survive due to the pressure of impersonabke powrhouses such as Prem Inn. Mutual loyalty was evident at the Quuens unlike Prem Inn where employees have learnt they are easily disposable …
Sea view, friendly staff. Easy parking. Clean. Great location. Lovely breakfast.
Location of the hotel across the road from the sea with nice views of Mounts Bay.Hotel character.
Food was good but not exceptional.Reading room comfortable & welcoming with a nice range of board games & plenty of tables. The room woukd benefit from better lighting to read by. Promenade restaurant is a lovely place to enjoy breakfast, coffee etc
Some aspects of the hotel are tired and need updating. Our bed was very creaky
It is what it is, a nice value for money hotel which like all seaside locations has seen better days but is still well worth a stay and with a team who work hard.
This is an old hotel so expect noise from other rooms, bathroom extractor fans and creaking floor board. Rear facing rooms are just that so upgrade if you can afford to. Breakfast is good but if you need to get away make sure you ger there with to spare as it's not rushed.
Central and good value. Big rooms. Comfy beds. Parking and breakfast included. Large choice for breakfast.
Dated. Lots of steps.
The staff
First night absolutely freezing moved rooms with 3 old sash windows the wind was coming through put towels in front of them we have both caught colds
The view and the fantastic staff!
A little dated, but that’s ok.
Location great, really central for Penzance and surrounding area. Breakfast as usual excellent. Staff welcoming and polite. Room nice and roomy, love having a couple of tub chairs and table to be able to sit at and look out over the sea/promenade to people watch, bed comfortable with plenty of pillows. Looking forward to my next stay
Location was stunning and decorated for Christmas was a beautiful extra.rooms were elegant and great views even in the stormy wild winter weather .breakfast choices were fabulous and staff were very helpful and friendly.bar was a pleasant snug for a nightcap .staircase was gorgeous .hearing ocean from my room was great .plenty of tea and coffee sachet in the room too .
Shower had a water lock or something than rendered it noisy ...probably worse for other guests to listen to than me .didn't effect the water flow too much .first night I was cold but after checking with staff they made sure the radiator was on so my remaining nights were very comfortable.
Perfect location, huge room, on-site parking (at cost), decent breakfast, great sea view.
Restaurant has very limited menu. Fish options poor even though next door to Newlyn. Whole place has the air of faded grandeur. Room decor sparse to zero.
Comfortable and great location with a sea view from my room.
Delicious bfast, lovely staff and amazing views
A lovely 3 star hotel. We had a sea front view. The room was large, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful (mains served to table). Excellent restaurant. Overall would definitely recommend
Nothing of note
Close to the centre of town and excellent views from the sea view rooms across the promenade. Accessible. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice menus.
Could do with some updated interiors particularly. Bathrooms, poor condition of paint and tiles, wallpaper peeling. Interior of corridors etc could do with refresh.
Lovely location, room had a lovely view. Very spacious and clean. Convenient parking
