Pros +
- Loved everything about it. Beautiful countryside and lovely staff. I'm not much of a camper, but I really enjoyed staying in the bell tent. I even liked the outside showers and toilet facilities, which were very clean and functional.
- Nice location
- Brilliant comfortable well equipped youth hostel. We had a separate room which was very comfy.
Cons -
- It was a bit of a walk to get there. Public transportation doesn't get quite close enough.
- Wifi was poor and the kitchen was disgusting. Mouldy microwave inside, hadn't been cleaned in months.
- Nothing to note, is a bit far to town but we had a car.

Brilliant comfortable well equipped youth hostel. We had a separate room which was very comfy.

We travelled with a group of friends and booked several rooms. Our room was big and comfortable, and although we didn't have a bathroom in our room, I've never had to wait in line to get into the toilet or for a shower. This hostel had everything for a comfortable and affordable stay, and the staff was kind and very helpful.
It was a bit stuffy in the room, but the windows didn't open past a certain point (for security reasons). Thankfully, we were provided with a big electric fan, which made the situation better.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the start. The property is very hygienic, clean, and well-maintained.The unlimited breakfast – it’s delicious and a real time-saver if you’re in the middle of a trip. The stay is very affordable, and the fully equipped kitchen and dining area are perfect for self-catering.
Peaceful surrounded by woods and walksRelaxing lounge and excellent self catering kitchenCooked breakfast set me up for the day good variety cooked as wellLeaving suitcase till later in day return
Wheelie suitcase about 25 min from station or leisurely stroll about 15 gentle incline from bus
Friendly staff, clean room, and nest area.
Staff were awesome. Chris held the room despite my NZ bank blocking my card (even though they were notified I was overseas). Clean and lovely place to stay.
The room was great (we were upgraded so had lots of space) and kitchen facilities were excellent.
Bit of a hike from town. I underestimated the uphill walk with luggage.
Beautiful surroundings and building and friendly service snd atmosphere
The facility is needed. It is a bit of a stroll from town but otherwise goodThere was a coach party of French students there who were noisy late at night and may have set the fire alarm off which caused some panic on my part
I like the location and the 6 bed dormitory room. Washrooms are common (not exclusive for 6bed room) you have to share it with other 6bed dormitory room as well.
Idk if this is a rare one time thing or this happens often but There was absolutely no water since 2 days in basins and flush and shower.. And they told us that it was the southwest water supply issue but I feel they should have had some backup since its a hostel.. But It was really annoying and they didn't compensate us in anyway.. Everyone was so angry they could have given us a partial refund or a free breakfast at least as a compensation..
It was clean, choice ie eat in the dinning room or make ur own meal. Staff all friendly and polite
Having to say bye for now
Family room was very comfortable and clean, well situated to the nearest family toilet.
Recommend finding your breakfast elsewhere, £10 is quite a lot for the buffet they offer.
Lovely clean historic hostel. Great Pizza very tasty. ?
The area first of all was very calm and peaceful. It was clean and the staff provided all asistance that we needed. We stayed in a formetry setup but with friends we really enjoyeed it. The property has a kitchen which add more vibe to stay in a place like that.
Free parking. Great restaurant on site with good food. Quiet area. Large kitchen for communal use. Short walk into town. Hot showers. Large communal living room for guests.
It's cheap nice people clean rooms. Nice destination
The lack of towels
Polite & helpful check inSpotless room Excellent facilitesReally friendly staff
Spacious, clean, and comfortable. Very difficult to fault! Loved the seclusion feeling of the property. The facilities were clean and everything worked well. I liked that the showers and toilets were private.
A little bit far from public transport. I came in winter so I’m not sure if there would be more during the Summer. But easy to walk to and from the town. I had a suitcase so needed to get a taxi to and from. Costs about £9. I would maybe request there to be more large bowls in the kitchen as well as some community essentials to cook with like salt/pepper, sugar, and olive oil.
