    Pros +

    • Location is amazing, great outdoor area to eat and drink. Room size hood, fridge and balcony.
    • Good location near to restaurant we were dining at
    • The location and quality of the hotel and facilities are excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. We particularly liked our room, its cleanliness and the excellent breakfast. We dined each evening in the Amalfi Restaurant in the hotel, which we thought had a varied menu, covering most tastes and was superb.

    Cons -

    • Staff in the restaurant and some bar staff. Very young and moody. Some older staff were outstanding and would help you with anything. Hotel very tired looking, needs upgrades.
    • Very tired decor. Needs considerable updating
    • The only issue we were concerned about was the extremely high cost of drinks. To pay £14.50 for a beer and glass of wine is excessive and exceeds London prices. Also, we disliked the many dogs on the beach, with some owners not picking up after their pets.

Our room overlooked the beach and it was a beautiful view

The windows were draughty and the couch needed a clean

The run down state of the whole place

The receptionist was cheerful and helpful when I asked to change my room because I couldn't stay in the first room and she switched me to a larger one.

The first room was dire. It was sort-of clean, cramped and dingy. The second room was spacious and much better appointed, though the decor was tired and 'functional'. The windows leaked with cold drafts. At breakfast, I was told that they couldn't make me an omelette, but then they did, although it was a mess. The hot breakfast buffet wasn't hot enough. Staff were charming though. The carpets in corridors / public areas were stained, and the place just seemed decrepit.

The balcony seaview was stunning. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The cleanliness in the room was very good. The staff all very friendly and helpful. My husband and I had a thoroughly nice stay.

This is the only criticism I can say about this hotel and that is the decor in places is a little 'tired' looking. Small rust patches on radiators, peeling paint on skirting boards, that type of thing.

Exceeded our expectations for the very cheap rate we paid, fantastic placed hotel. Didn't expect a sea view so a huge bonus to hear the wages lapping on the shore. Well equipped rooms, beautiful large soft white towels & a good selection of toiletries & complimentary hot drinks. Would definitely stay again.

    The breakfast was cold.

Woul have loked a hot breakfast and better opening times for swimming pool

    5AndrewPosted on: 10-6-2025

The staff were all excellent and very helpful.

The WiFi did not work in my room at the far end of the hotel. The room was very tired, the shower control fell off in my hand. There was no water pressure in the sink. Well overdue a refurb

    Excellent location. Very good breakfast.

Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Lift only went to second floor. We were situated on 3rd floor.

    9ClairePosted on: 10-3-2025

The room they gave us was fantastic. Amazing sea view. The room was clean and well equipped.

The drinks from the bar were very expensive!

    Great location.Good food.Reasonable price.

    Slightly tired and dated.

    8BeverleyPosted on: 9-28-2025

Reception and bar area very comfortable and relaxing. Our room was airy and very comfortable.Outside area and proximity to the beach great.

Appeared to be a bit dated in places and the lampshades could do with being dusted. The outside area could do with a lick of paint & the gutters had foliage growing out of them.

    8JohnPosted on: 9-26-2025

The location suited our plans to revisit old haunts for the day

As the hotel is so big, there was quite a long walk, through the corridors, sometimes up and down stairs to reach our room the other end of the reception point and, the two restaurants for an evening meal and breakfast the following morning, Phew. Cant be changed I suppose, but wasn't expecting such a route march !!!!!!! Just a couple of comments about the actual room, the plumbing could do with a ' look at ' the loo was very reluctant to flush, and the cold water tap, took ages just to fill the small kettle. Also the flooring on entry into the room and out of the bathroom, seemed to have been polished ? as walking over it wearing socks was abit like ice skating and sliding about, not idle in our late 70's. There should be sockets to charge the phone each side of the bed, instead of only one, and one of us found the mattress very soft and didn't have a good nights sleep, aware it would be impossible to please every guest staying there.
