About

Overlooking Holes Bay in Poole Harbor on the magnificent south coast, all 60 bedrooms have stunning harbor views. Designed with our lifesavers in mind, all or our bedrooms have a double bed and pull out sofa bed ideal for family staycations or can be booked as single rooms. The contemporary and comfortable air-conditioned rooms are decorated to the highest standards with private bathrooms including full bath and shower. The rooms benefit from a separate area to relax on the sofa and take in the far-reaching views over the bay while enjoying the free tea and coffee making facilities. Relax, unwind and make yourselves at home in Riggers restaurant where you can watch the world go by while enjoying a hearty breakfast and maybe catch a glimpse of our dedicated lifesavers being trained. It’s the perfect base for exploring Dorset with many attractions right on the doorstep. Just a short stroll to Poole Quay, a short drive to Sandbanks Beach and a short hop on a ferry to the National Trust’s Brownsea Island and the Jurassic Coast.

    Pros +

    • Staff were excellent and friendly. Room was clean and fresh. The gift shop was well stocked and staff friendly. The maids cleaning the rooms were cheery and friendly.
    • Really nice place, room was good, staff friendly, food was good, free car park, 10 mins walk to Pool quayside. Asda superstore next door if you need anything. We went on a tour of the training facilities which was really interesting. Other tours are available too inc of their boat building factory.
    • The staff are very friendly and kind, received a warm welcome. Food was lovely and the selection was great. Room was really comfy and decorated well.

    Cons -

    • The bar and restaurant were having work done and were closed. We were warned about this well in advance. However, the alternative seemed to be a large conference room and had no atmosphere or decent view.
    • Local area didnt have much in walking distance and not the cleanest part of Poole, but we had a car and used it.
    • The sofa bed mattress is sunken down

A great room with a fantastic view. Very helpful staff and a lovely breakfast. We decided to leave the car at home so travelled by train. Easy to get to from the station and only a short walk into Poole town centre and quayside. Would thoroughly recommend this.

Location was ideal, near to the town, bars and restaurants. The hotel was easy to find and free parking a bonus.

Clean, cozy and comfortable room overlooking the bay. Enjoyed watching the RNLI boats and crew practising outside.

Restaurant is currently closed for renovations - of which I was informed before arrival. Meals are still available in a conference room - which is fine but doesn't have the same ambiance.

Position with view over the harbour.Very friendly staff.

Ventilation in bathroom very poor. The fan was not strong enough and steam built up. Very attractive bathroom but impractical.
