Pros +
- The staff. Both friendly and honest. Dropped a twenty pound note in the lobby which was spotted by an employee of the hotel who alerted me to it. Very honest. Room itself, bedding, pillows, carpets and bathroom were clean. As well I did like the bar area.
- The location was excellent. Breakfast was good, staff were helpful and friendly. There was parking available.
- Decent breakfast.
Cons -
- The room. Incredible small and uncomfortable. Lack of air or breeze made the room on the second floor feel like a sauna. Noticed multiple guest leaving their doors open to their rooms in order to cool it down a bit. Very cramped and uncomfortable.
- I know it was out of season but there was lack of housekeeping, it would have been nice to have someone ensuring the bathroom was cleaned and fresh cups available
- Room /bathroom were a disgrace. Wallpaper peeling of the wall, stains on carpet, no pressure in the shower, wall tiles broken/ or had mould in grouting.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was great
Needed a little improvement in the room as wallpaper falling off and no matress protector
Staff were friendly and kind. Bar is open till late.
Heating is on a timers my mom was frozed through the night. It's very noisy you can hear all the other rooms. Corridors were very narrow like a rat run..they did say we could have asked about heating but in the early hours you don't want to be going up n down to reception to complain. They could have just put a portable heater in anyway. When we stripped beds next day there were bed bugs. Took photo and videos. Lucky we only stayed one night but hotel was understandable and gave me refund if you want more than 1 item on breakfast you have to pay extra
The staff were very good. A good breakfast with a bar
Small bathroom
Near all activities in the town centre. Parking organized on arrival £20 for the duration of our stay. The room was ok size for the 2 nights we stayed. Breakfast was good with all the usual items and choices. Games room with a couple of pool tables, football table, darts board and other items to keep you amused if the weather is bad. Bar near the reception area. Need your room key with you all time, just in case you return back late to get through the main door. Staff manage the reception as stated 24 hrs.The staff were polite and helpful.
Staff were helpful, breakfast was good. Price was good. There's a public car park next door (a bit expensive) and the hotel provides other options nearby (cheaper). Was a short walk to shops and beachfront.
Although rooms were a bit run down, for the price you cannot expect it any better. Rooms tended to get a bit warm and there were no fans but a few pounds at a local shop fixed that. Staff and the atmosphere made up for any shortcomings.
It's the third year we have stayed at the Lawton because from the first year we liked as a family liked it .The staff are friendly and helpful the price is reasonable the rooms are very nice the breakfast is lovely ,it's not to far to the beach it is everything you could need or want when staying in Blackpool for a few days or weeks so much so we had friends join us this year and they absolutely felt the same as we do about the Lawton .I can honestly say my family and I wouldn't stay anywhere else now .
If I had to complain about anything I suppose it would be the breakfast time finishes at 9.30 and the only reason I would complain about that is because I overslept on my last day and missed it so not hotel fault but mine really
Good bar good breakfast for what we paid all clean
The bed was extremely soft and as I had a single room the bed it's self wasca very small single
A bit out of date now could do with a refurbishment
Was told there was no parking at the hotel.. Then to find out they have a car park wasn't good.
Brilliant location as I'm here for the Matchplay. Lovely hotel. Martin the manager is so friendly and helpful. Been staying here for 4 years now and it's a brilliant hotel. If you want a quiet room make sure you request on booking. Excellent value for money.
Seagulls ??. They seem to like having a party at midnight. Seriously I can't find fault in this hotel.
Friendly staff good food
Rooms need refurbishment as scruffy
bed nice to sleep in breakfast was 8/ 10
bathroom bit small you could do with small sink would be better so you dry yourself when you get out the shower
breakfast room and breakfast excellent, staff friendly.Deco in bar area good.bedding, towels very clean.new kettle and hairdryer
our room, dusty headboard, bathroom door dirty, sink filthy..I cleaned it, furniture and carpet dark and needs updating desperately some very worn, some broken, taps and electric sockets loose, dangerous.tea making facilities no semi skimmed milk.
Good selection of drinks at barReceptionist very welcoming
Very dated and warn out Very warm through out the property Bad odour through out propertyVery expensive in comparison to quality of propertyHole in bedsheet
Breakfast was of reasonable quality. The room was a bit small for 3 Adults & not much storage space so we had to live out our suitcases. Beds were slightly soft & the springs could be felt through the mattress.
The bathroom was extremely small & very dated. The cleanliness also wasn't what I would have expected. I enquired about evening meals when we arrived only to be told that they hadn't served evening meals in some 17 years which I knew for a fact was incorrect as I have used this Hotel many times over the years but possibly not in the last 6 years as my family are now all adults.
It was clean Breakfast was lovely. Staff lovely especially lady on duty Wednesday afternoon
The rooms were a little small
Friendly staff and convenience.
Room was a little small and no shampoo etc in the bathroom.
Nice friendly staff
Room was small and not very clean, couldn't shut bathroom door and no towels.
