The fact it wasn't near home
The condition of the room was absolutely disgusting. My partner had to keep cleaning her feet due to long black hairs her feet were black from the carpet the bedside tables had coffee stains allover them. Basically the room felt like it hadn't been cleaned and to be honest I reckon the hoovering hadn't been done for a while... the state of that room caused a row with me and the Mrs and infact we ended leaving a day early because we couldn't cope with bits and hair getting stuck to her and in the end me. It was disgusting
I looked good on arrival
Blocked sink not addressed by staff, swimming pool fully booked couldn’t use it this wasn’t mentioned
A great place to stay for a really great price. The staff went above and beyond. The staff worked their socks off whenever I saw one of them. They all deserve high praise from management.
I didn't like that you weren't able to get a coffee in the evening with your meal.I would have liked to see porridge on the menu.It was great that the pillows had been updated from the year before but they were all one thickness which hurt my neck so I had to go and buy some so that I could sleep. I understand that you can't please everyone though.I found the set menu option a little lacking.
Managed to get a booking in the Pool and use the steam room and Sauna for a an hour. Friendly staff on Reception. Good location. Breakfast was OK.
Room was cold and had to ask for a portable heater. Room looked tired e.g. screws where pictures used to be. Bathroom looked like it had not be touched since new and in need of decoration. VERY thin walls and door and could hear both sides as well as people getting in late. Would say it's not suitable for a guaranteed comfortable nights sleep. Bar is understaffed and lacks atmosphere e.g. Six nations was on but the TV's were all turned off. Only had 1 waiter on the bar and took 10+ mins to get served.
Good location, nice staff at reception, served the purpose of somewhere to crash for one night.
Beds weren’t made, dirty crisp packets found in room, rude man working at pool reception, breakfast finished at 9am, charging a fee for the car park, very dated hotel.
Facilities were good, the room had a great view, was clean, and had a very good shower. Breakfast was very good value for money as was dinner
The bathroom would benefit from an extractor, and the bed is uncomfortable. Staff appeared to be stretched, although they did try their best to be attentive
Location was good.
Room was supposed to be ready at 3. Yet I'm still waiting untill 4:45 for my room after a 3 hour drive with 2 young children. Wasn't told prior to my booking that swimming had to be booked. So unfortunately had some very disappointed children.
The overall property is lovely, has a lot of facilities and nicely decorated.
we stayed for two nights, check in was unfriendly, breakfast on both days was a acomplete disaster, we attended at 9am when service finished at 1030, only to find that every table was filthy, full of dirty dishes ect, when we asked if a table could be cleared we were rudely advised that they were to busy so a seperate room was opened. Hoever this room was worse than the first, it had dirty unset tables with some cutlery lying around, chairs pilled in the corner. Once we have found a table of sorts, the food was cold or just non existance, there was no pastry, no milk for tea, no juice, no bread for toast and very little hot items which were luke warm, when we asked if anything else would be brought out we were told that breakfast finished at 930 which was not what was advertiesed. so on both mornings we were unable to enjhoy breakfast and the sunday was even worse so we just didnt bother. I mentioned at check out and the receptionist was rude and dismissive, just advised its winter! Needless to say I will not be returning to this hotel, nor would i recoomend to anyone wanting anything more than a bed for the night.
Nice clean rooms
The pillows are like sleeping on concrete plus the windows don’t open
We love blackpool and are looking forward to our next trip already
Couldnt find anything wrong with our visit this time staff were excellent hotel was comfortable and clean we love the grand hotel and wouldnt book anywhere else Swimming pool is great and breakfast was also good value for money We are looking forward to next time already See u soon Ben & Emma
The location was okays
Pungent smell, staff were inconsiderate, our door was faulty and staff were reluctant to offer a solution, assurance and behaved as if letting them know the door was faulty is our problem. Swimming is tinny and charged extra for residents, did no fridge and the bedding linen were wanting. There was no value for money at all
Great sea view. Room clean and spacious
Bed was rather hard. But besides that great size.
Location was great for where we needed to be. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room size for our family was a good size.
The noise levels at night was not great, people running around in the corridor and the two people howling like a dog all night did not help our children sleep or us.
Easy to park.Friendly staffClean.
Beds quite uncomfortable Bathroom had mold on ceilingSwimming pool a lot smaller than it shows online - changing rooms really small and not very clean.Evening food didnt have much choice for the price.
Swimming pool, breakfast
Condition of the changing rooms.Lack of lighting (bedside lamps) in room.
The room was lovely, spacious, the breakfast was a good selection, staff were polite ,ample parking and price for parking was good, checking in and out was easy.,good location, room was nice and warm.t
There was nothing we didn't like
The hotel staff were nice.
The cleanliness of the room was of poor quality. As a family of allergy sufferers we were constantly sneezing and needing to use our inhalers. This was due to the dust I think as my sister has dust mite bites all over her legs. The mugs weren't washed properly with tea stains still present and the carpet did not appear vacuumed (that was also present in the hotel corridors too). It hadn't been cleaned under the beds either, there was gathered dust and bits of old food crumb. It was also dated which is ok if it was clean and well kept but the most shocking thing of all was that there were holes in the plasterboard in our room! The room was also cold and there was nowhere to adjust the heating, just a small plug in radiator that definitely doesn't heat a family sized room.
