- The reception area was very clean and lovely
- We only stayed for a few nights, room, hotel facilities and entertainment were just ok for us. Expected more because the reviews were so positive for this hotel.
- Good location. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms were a bit outdated but clean and comfortable. The family room was a very good size. Good drinks selection at the bar. The bar staff were great. Evening entertainment was good for both adults and children. Games room for kids. Good size pool and facilities.
Cons -
- The rooms don’t match the reception they are very dated and dirty the bathroom radiators look like they haven’t been cleaned the beds had hair in them I felt very unclean while there and on leaving like I needed to go straight home and shower as the bathrooms were not clean
- Room was small, very old fashioned & in desperate need of update.Very unpleasant smell coming from bathroom, think it was the drains.Entertainment was ok, enjoyed the greatest showman singing/dancing act but the other singers were not great, most songs choices were aimed at the older generation and not much for young at heart (40-50's) or older children, my daughter is 14 and wasn't impressed.
- The corridors are very narrow and parts of the hotel could do with modernisation. However all of the hotel was very clean. The food was not great! Very limited menu for both adults and children - everything from frozen. I ordered the pate starter and it resembled cat food and I couldn't eat it. One of our group ordered a chicken salad which was a very standard salad in a small cereal bowl and three small pieces of (clearly packeted) chicken on the plate next to the salad bowl. For £23.90pp (adults and not including any drinks) the quality was poor and completely put our group off eating in the hotel for the remainder of the stay. I was expecting more of a menu selection given the simplicity of the options and failing that a higher standard of food. The layout of the hotel needs a re-think. The reception is in the bar area which is compact and causes chaos with people for check-in and out. Appreciated it was the start of the October break and heavily populated with families with children but there was a distinct lack of consideration for residents that just wanted to have a quiet drink late at night once the entertainment had ended. Children running through the already compact bar area at 23:00pm screaming and shouting, (one child launching himself around one of the chairs we were sat on) was just not an enjoyable experience. Granted again parental intervention should have occurred but the on duty staff did nothing to help facilitate this despite observing from the reception area that other residents were clearly getting annoyed and put off by the commotion happening. This was disappointing and could have been resolved quickly given the facilities offered for children they could have been redirected away from the bar area.

Hotel lovely downstairs staff brilliant great location food good
Sea view room 124 very small shower was awful kept going hot and cold upstairs carpets need updating some thread bare only 2 lifts which are tiny and very slow if you have luggage could take a while to use the lift all inclusive lunch very poor all items where cold so we complained the next day it was good nice sandwiches hot soup and tea and coffee nerd to keep it up
Beautiful, modern room with private bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Daily maid service. Good food.
I booked a double but the bed was a very small double. I'm quite glad my partner wasn't able to come as there wouldn't have been room for us both. Mattress was very hard and lumpy.
The hot tub
The hot tub not Hot. And just Did not Bubbles in Your Face. No Jet Pressure for your body. Waste of Money if you go there for the Hot tub
nice location ideal with tram stop opposite
nothing could do with a smoking shelter
I like the facilities and location of the hotel, the staff are superb and if you have a problem they fix it right away.
The bed the mattress was very lumpy but they did try and fix it for me
Beautiful hotel, lovely staff.
Bit far from North Pier but easy to get a tram
Could fault the hotel. Its lovely the staff are superb. I have stayed before and will be returning soon ?
No complaints
Great facilities, tentative staff.
Uncomfortable bed, and creaking ceilings tiles kept us awake all night.
Swimming pool and staff are the positives
Room too hot. Windows hardly open. Net curtains frayed. Broken toilet roll holder. Dripping taps. Mattress really uncomfortable. Rubbish night sleep. £128 for one night. Not worth it. Room small considering it's a family room.
Location staff and cleanliness
Only let down for us was not been made aware of holding fee prior to stay instead we found out upon staying the text message. We were advised that we would receive two days before this day. We actually received 24 hours into the stay in the hotel.
The hotel is lovely, we have stayed here numerous times over the years, staff were lovely and the food was delicious, entertainment was brilliant, my only niggle was the room was very hot so we didn't even unfold the bedding as it was to hot to sleep under the covers.
The hotel when you first walk in was lovely and far more the I expected for the price. I didn't get to use all the features at the hotel but I heard great things about the pools. The staff were amazing especially a guy called Dylan who was a Knight in shining armor. I will definitely stay here again
There was very loud music from the pub next door which was frustrating, it would have been okay if it was just the music but unfortunately I had some very noisy people in the room next to me who kept waking me up and then because of the music I'd struggle to get back to sleep. I also found finding the room difficult as the signs were not well laid out
The inner pool was small even for kids, smelly, and not clean.
The outside poolThe refurbished roomLocation Pool barRoom had an amazing view for miles even though it was not a sea view.
The pool was amazing but by the end of the day and the day after it was filthy .Not one person showerd before entering ,all sweaty and full of sun cream.Even the singer jumped in after his gig in his denim shorts.
Superb hotel great staff food good outdoor swimming pool great indoor pool needs re vamping and upstairs carpets need replacing
The welcome at reception was lovely, the staff were lovely and helpful when needed , the room was cosy, clean and spacious, breakfast was lovely and other food too , nice friendly place ?
The mattress was a little hard and uncomfy but I guess we can't all have comfy beds haha
Myself and my partner attended at Doric. The hotel was actually better than what we expected. The reception area and bar is modern and lovely. The staff are also great. The rooms were outdated however were very clean therefore we could not complain. The all inclusive really was all inclusive. I had to get carried up the stairs by the end of the night ha ha! We were the youngest couple in the hotel but were made to feel so welcome and had such a laugh. We would definitely return ?
