Pros +
- Beautiful room, ideally located on top of high street, exceptionally clean and 10 mins walk from rail station, very impressed with everything including lovely breakfast and staff.
- The cooked breakfast was excellent. I particularly liked that you preordered for your particular time so that it was ready when you came down for it. Check in was 4pm, although I arrived, as prearranged before 11am and handed over my luggage, leaving me to enjoy a day in Driffield luggage free. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. Less than 10 mins walk from the train station.
- Business took me to Driffield and the Hotel Forty One. I liked the privacy, the quietness (some may think too quiet, it was unmanned), but it suited me just fine.Everything I needed was there, security code fo the door access, room key, bath and shower.
Cons -
- The outside could do with a bit of tlc.
- With it being unmanned, there are a lot of cameras in the common areas. I didn’t see any notices warning if this or other statutory requirements like data controller or usage purposes. Not a big deal but not really ideal for privacy purposes.
- The aircon/ heating was a little noisy over night

The staff went out of their way to make you welcome. The rooms and very well appointed especially the bathroom and spotless. Good breakfast very well served
The aircon/ heating was a little noisy over night
Breakfast was lovely. The room was comfortable but it was very hot
The temperature of the room
The room was beautiful, clean warm and welcoming.
The restaurant was very cold when having breakfast, even the cutlery was ice cold, the food however was lovely.
Staff member on checking in & out & at breakfast excellent Room clean & comfortable
Everything. Quirky different clean decor. Staff excellent especially the lady who greeted us , looked after after our evening meal and our breakfast. Great shower. Quiet room.
All great
Quirky, vey clean and spacious room with all the amenities you need. Very friendly informative staff
It was basic and good for the price. We only arrived, went to bed and then left fairly early but it was clean and great for what we needed. The cooked breakfast was lovely.
As the restaurant was shut when we arrived we didn’t see any staff on arrival and just had to let ourselves into the rooms and the keys were left in there. One of the rooms smelt funny on arrival but soon sorted with opening the windows. The ‘buffet/help yourself to’ selection at breakfast wasn’t the best but can’t really complain for the price we paid.
The room was very clean and comfortable, though up quite a lot of stairs. Breakfast was very tasty and well prepared. The staff were very good at getting in touch ahead of the visit to let me know e.g. changes to breakfast times and access arrangements.
I am not a fan of unmanned hotels in general (we arrived on a Sunday) - it seems to me to be a very odd concept in the hospitality business. I wish the weather had been more conducive to exploring Driffield, It looks like a really attractive town with a range of independent shops and eateries - and Number 41 could not be more central to the action.
Room 10 was excellent for us, did warn us it was over the function room but apart from some chatter outside we didn't hear it. Never slept so well away from home, bed was so comfy, shower was huge and easy to work.
Fell up the small step in the room but it was dark and my own fault, some of the doors leading from the bar to the accommodation could do with a lick of paint.
I can’t think of anything other than the cleanliness
I was given a room with two single beds, of such an unusual shape and size, bar prices were excessive, you had to walk by the kitchen to get to the stairs to the rooms
Friendly staff / nice food
Parking
Clean, comfortable, friendly n central. Perfect
Very nice room Very comfy Staff very helpful and friendly Good breakfast too
very friendly staff, excellent service and lovely hotel. Room was amazing, and the location was very good.
Very comfortable and spacious room on the top floor. The staff were extremely friendly and polite.
Nothing!
It was clean, warm and the beds were comfortable. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious.
It was a quiet room, as requested. It was in the centre of the town. The bathroom was good. The bedroom was clean. The breakfast was great. My wife is vegetarian, but they made her a really nice meal. The staff were friendly.
Only one window in the room, at one end of a long and narrow room. Putting on the light in the bathroom, meant a noisy fan. It took a while to figure out how to use the television. We only have freeview at home. No instructions on the central heating, but I did find the thermostat. When the heating came on, it started off noisy.
