The spa was very disappointing- the staff were lovely but the facilities are limited, it was packed and the treatment we had wasn't great
Location, cost, facilities.
Very low ceiling in bedroom, very high cost of bar drinks.
It’s a wonderful historical hotel in a great position, sea-front, which includes also some good restaurants. Our room (normal room with sea view) was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I loved this place and I hope we’ll be back. The parking was also easy (in February), on the street just in front of the hotel. There is also a very cool pub with fantastic food just on the back of the hotel.
The room (especially the bathroom) was overheated. The two men serving at breakfast were talking a bit loud and too fast, moving too fast and not respecting social distancing.
Staff was good and happy to help and answer any questions....Good location
The rooms on 4th floor was more like 2 star not 4...
Staff, size of the room, view from the room, location
Blocked sink, unable to use. Smelly bed, fridge not cool enough, mold in the bath, aircon display saying it require cleaning
Lovely sea views and very smart
Easy access and parking, very comfortable bed
Rooms were nice although a little small but well equipped with plenty of towels, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini fridge etc. Breakfast was nice enough with lots of options. Wellness facilities were nice. Drinks in the bar are lovely.
We paid extra for a sea view although not sure if it is worth it as lots of pigeon spikes (understandably) but quite unsightly so not sure if it’s worth the extra money. The lift is so unreasonably small and we were often waiting ages for one we could fit in and not all stairs go to all the levels. If you like firm pillows maybe bring your own as they’re VERY soft. Windows are also quite breezy and cold.
The location is perfect and the staff mainly the receptionists were amazing.Parking is available for a little fee.
I did not like the breakfast buffet, nothing was tasty, even the coffee. Its not a major thing, but I did not like that the carpet of our room was stained in a very prominent and uncomfortable way.
Wonderful welcome, great location, comfortable, excellent value for money for what we paid. Fabulous facilities which we will make use of next time!
Loved it - the only issue we had was spotting the hotel name when we arrived in the dark. We didn’t know the hotel & the various restaurant signage is much bigger.
Great position, great staff and a CLEAN usable room..very good.
Lift access needs resolved.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately the carpets were being upgrade so the stay was a bit disjointed!
Small lifts
It’s just the best that’s why I keep going back
I love this property because of its age Some funny floors And now the new beds and rooms are amazing
Everything!! Our room was exceptional! Beautiful views with Everything you could possibly want for a short stay. Massage was very relaxing. Staff throughout the hotel were very hospital and could not do enough for us. Looking forward to returning in February.
Sadly I had a very upset stomach which resulted in us leaving earlier than planned.
The value for money is excellent. Very reasonable price and the hotel was clean with lovely staff. Shower was brilliant.
The bed in the standard double room was a bit small.
food was good. nice spa with sauna, steam and jacuzzi. fascinating location and building. smart decor generally
as we had dogs we had to eat in the rather draughty entrance hall which was a shame. Although smart the decor was a bit tired in places.
Staff was very polite
When we arrived it was very pleasant and we was given an upgrade that was very much appreciated. When we got to our room it was lovely until we found a razor blade sitting on the side of the dressing table . The management came to our room and was very apologetic and promised us we would be compensated. Then as we was getting ready for our New Year’s Eve party the lamp side table didn’t work for my wife to do her make up and we didn’t have any hot water to shower so they came up and changed the lamp and said they had fixed the hot water but to give it half hour . So I left it to the last moment before I had to get ready which was about an hour and still no hot water so was unable to shower before going out . As I went down stairs I saw management which took me back to the room to prove I still had no hot water and in the mean time my wife waited by reception where the man on the front desk was rude to her and thought that all these problems was acceptable as it was a free upgrade. Bumped into the manager in the evening and he told me he would sort something out the following morning as they was busy as it was New Year’s Eve which I thought was fair enough . Next morning we wasn’t given any compensation what so ever . Stayed here a few times before and never had a problem only since it’s been taken over by Hilton . Very very disappointed
Very modern .lovely new decor.very friendly staff
Room freezing cold .windows so old they were letting in cold air and rain on the window ceil.Too cold to sleep.
