    Pros +

    • The staff was incredible. Very helpful, always cheerful, They made our Stay a delight. The meals were incredibly good.
    • Excellent Dinner Room clean and comfortable good breakfast. Nice gardens and quiet location.
    • The mattress was really comfortable and the quietness made it a very good night's sleep. Location was great, good parking facilities, it felt safe. Lovely garden well well-cured throughout. The restaurant was spacious and light and airy with a nice glass view over the river. Great selection of wines and champagnes, food was also very good quality. Staff was very friendly and professional.

    Cons -

    • Nothing. I will come back in a heartbeat and I will recommend this to all of my friends
    • It was quite difficult to find. It was a really nice hotel. Difficult to find anything wrong with it.
    • The room was dark and a little dated, however, the bathroom was spacious and more modern. The pillows were square, so an odd shape to sleep with so if you moved position, you need to move your pillow as well. The bedside table on on side of the bed was about 40cm from the mattress itself, which meant you had to stretch to reach it. The telephone was glued to the bedside table, closest to the mattress, which was impractical. We were supplied with an accessible room but we found the accessibility was only related to the bathroom. This had one grab rail next to the toilet and a walk in shower with a seat. The room itself was too small to navigate with a wheelchair, and the suitcase rack impeded access to on side of the bed, so we moved it. I had a mobility scooter that didn't fit in the room and had to level it just outside the room and ambulate with crutches. To one side of the bed the room had an extension lead rather than a proper power socket.

Have visited several times in the past but the addition of the lift was a real bonus. (now I am in my 80s).

It was in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens. The owner and staff were very welcoming and attentive and gave great service. The evening meal was absolutely superb

    8MeganPosted on: 3-25-2025

The dining room was welcoming . The staff were very friendly and the food excellent. Lovely upstairs view from the bedroom but it was rather small . However the bed itself was very comfortable and had good quality linen . Better curtains and curtain rail are needed. We would like to return in the summer when the property would presumably look more like the advertised photographs .

It would have been good to have had a coffee machine or at least a kettle in the bedroom . After a long journey it would have been lovely to have been able to rest in the bedroom with a tea / coffee before super at 7.30pm

Fabulous food and very clean and comfortable and very good for dogs. Shower worked well. Good linen and fabulous staff.

Pillows were very uncomfortable room was rather too hot and with no window ( only door which we couldn’t open during night because of dog) it was a bit airless.

    Good Location, secure parking.

Dated decor, lukewarm reception, basic facilities, poor cuisine

    LocationGood breakfast

Very poor dinner.Owner/manager didn't offer to help with suitcase upstairs where no liftA very sterile concrete annex was called a pavilion, somewhat misleading

Everything and as we were travelling with a small dog the downstairs room in the separate block with a little patio was perfect

    9DavidPosted on: 9-8-2024

Very good hotel with excellent staff. The set menu evening meal was very good value and beautifully presented. Nice terrace and grounds

Our room was a little small but comfortable

    10NicolaPosted on: 9-6-2024

Excellent stay, staff kindly let us in early as we'd been travelling for 12 hours. Very comfortable for us all including 2 large dogs, excellent location, beautiful grounds.

    8JohnPosted on: 8-26-2024

Well appointed hotel with excellent facilities. The Japanese style steak at dinner was one of the best I have ever experienced.Well positioned for a stop over on the return journey from the Alps.

This is an oasis in an otherwise unimpressive landscape.

    8MarcellePosted on: 8-14-2024

Room did not have aircon only a noisy fan. Lack of toiletries. Bed was very comfortable. Dinner was amazing.

Mosquitos were in abundance and we were both eaten alive. Suggest a mosquito magnet or similar.

Friendly staff and keen to help. Lively and attractive hotel. Good value food.

Very clean, friendly staff and great location

    7GaryPosted on: 7-25-2024

    Lovely area and nice room

Loads of flies around the garden when walking the dogs. The flies did not seem to be around the terrace as people enjoyed the outside space
