Pros +
- Huge room, enormous bathroom! Very friendly staff. Excellent evening meal & breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Free parking.
- Nice location and great staff who helped me with local bike shops. Abundant breakfast. Safe bike storage while we were on a long bike ride.
- Location is good for us as it is a good stop on a long journey that is near the motorway. Nice village and the food is good at the hotel
Cons -
- Still a bit expensive by most value measures we experienced on our three week trip.
- Unfortunately they don't allow dogs and breakfast starts at 9.00 which is too late for us
- Staff service attitude. Opening hours. General lack of positivity coupled with some really negative events like being told to leave the restaurant to the rooms which is the only public area at 22.00 while still enjoying the bottle of wine we were served half hour before. While all staff speak excellent English almost all materials were in Dutch only, some also in German, almost nothing in English. But then this seems to be a place only for Dutch

Very friendly hotel in beautiful small village. Great restaurant attached.
Clean, comfortable rooms, good food on the main street of a small picturesque Dutch town with great outdoor spaces gardens, good parking etc.

Breakfast, the grounds and car parking
Our room was very dark ( no windows)
Location was good, peaceful area.Nearby many restaurants and a small lake.
Need a LIFT, not good for travellers with lots of luggage as stairs steps are small.
Room was very clean, comfortable and well decorated. Breakfast was exceptional with an abundance of choice and delicious. Location was also superb. In the middle of the village and super close to the Hertog Jan brewery where we had a tasting. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We felt more at home than at a hotel.
The only downside was that you can hear everything from the hall way in your room. For the rest great.
Very characterful building - the rooms are very charming, like little cottages. Beautifully tendered garden. Food in the restaurant was lovely. They also have a car park, although one cannot reserve a space.
Combinatiom oh hotel and redtaurant with good food
There was unpleasant smell in the bathroom.
The location was lovely - we wished we had had more time there. The food in the hotel restaurant was also excellent.
Not ideal for people with disabilities. There was no lift (no space for one in a small hotel) and a difficult flight of stairs (though short) to get to the room. However, the staff offered to help with cases, we managed .. and would stay again despite the difficulty.
We were two couples, upstairs in modern rooms (22 and 23). Rooms were very attractive and thank goodness for airco, as it was toasty. Only drawback was the lovely beams were head level in some cases, so tall people beware. The outside space out back was particularly lovely and location in town and steps away from the water (which you can't see from older side) was perfect. We had dinner there too and it was really good and, just as important, the staff was extremely friendly. Great breakfast too!
Great location, friendly staff, bikes for rent.
Our Room in the garden was very small and quite dark, not really comfy but ok for one night.
The room with bath/jacuzzi and sauna was excellent
Close to the hertog Jan factory
Everything about this hotel is good, we have been returning to it for a few years now & it just gets better & better. We had a wonderful dinner with excellent food!
Breakfast and restaurant
