We really enjoyed the ability to use the hotel's bikes. The room was spacious & clean. Note that because you are in old town there can be noise from the street at night; however, we always travel with earplugs so it didn't bother us in the least.

Top Tips
- Secure casas rurales in San Martín de Arteaga 3 to 6 months in advance for July-August or festival periods, as rural options are limited and rates rise inside 12 weeks. Compare with major hotel brands in Vitoria-Gasteiz (20-30 minutes by car) for broader availability.
- Most dining, shopping, and entertainment is found in Vitoria-Gasteiz, 20-30 minutes away by car. Check if your hotel offers shuttle service or car rental desks to simplify local transport, since San Martín de Arteaga has limited onsite services.
- Remote workers should look for confirmed high-speed Wi-Fi (20 Mbps or more) or a business center, especially for video calls. Message hotel staff or casa rural hosts to verify internet speeds, as rural connections vary.
- Confirm parking details before arrival. Many hotels near Vitoria offer secure underground parking, while rural stays may offer open-air or unpaved parking within 50 meters of the property.
- Review included amenities before booking. Hotels typically provide daily housekeeping, linens, and toiletries, while casas rurales may expect you to bring extra kitchen supplies or towels for longer self-catered stays.
- Respect traditional quiet hours in the region, especially from 14:00-16:00 and after 22:00. This is important in family-run or small-scale accommodations to maintain positive guest-host relations.
- Check municipal websites or ask at your hotel for local patron saint festival dates in San Martín de Arteaga or Arratzua-Ubarrundia. These events offer cultural immersion but may cause increased demand and local traffic within 10 km.
- Tap water in Spain is potable and often available in hotel lobbies. For guests sensitive to taste, bottled water can be purchased locally for around €0.50 per liter (approx. $0.55 USD).
