We just had a one night stop-over, and the hotel was perfectly adequate for that. Centrally located in the town, and we parked right outside the hotel.Room was clean and no problem for a one night stay. Breakfast was basic but fine, and staff were helpful, but hotel had limited facilities.
Everything was fine, but don't expect luxury or a host of amenities for the price.
We think the hotel was a great choice, the staff were all really nice, the breakfast was better than places we have stayed at with a higher rating and we never heard any noise coming from other rooms. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Santa Maria or even thinking about going to Espinho.
We don't have anything negative to say about the hotel itself. The only thing that might be a bit bothersome for some travellers is that the parking places around the hotel are almost all paid parking. This is something we know is not up to the hotel, just think it's worth mentioning for anyone that might read the review.
I stayed here while walking the Camino Portugues as it was full in San Joao de Madeira that night (Easter holidays) and this was a really pleasant surprise. Room was great, a proper hotel room with everything I needed, plus a big balcony where I got to watch a surprise Easter procession outside. Breakfast was included and had good options. Plus the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would happily stay again.
Nice location, nice staff, nice breakfast. Very clean. A very good option in this Town.

We like everything. The room was big and clean. The staff from the reception was verry nice. The breakfast was verry consistant and you had the possibility to choose from diverent tipes of food.

The hotel is located in an excellent location near the very center of the city. The room was huge with a large double bed. Everything was very clean. The room has a minibar with acceptable prices.
The air conditioner was not working and the room was very cold.
Joana at the front desk was very professional and nice. Room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. Bathtub and balcony were unexpected extras. Central location in a surprisingly fun and vibrant town. Value for money was great.
Train station 1.3k from hotel. Long walk back up so take cab or Uber. Best bet without a car is to take a bus from Ovar.
Nice breakfast, good location with easy access to a lot of restaurants and sightseeing.
Shower water pressure could be better
Spacious rooms, quiet, view of the church and castle (room 406), relatively firm mattress, breakfast included, hairdryer and iron (not iron board) available upon request.Street Parking on the weekend is free.Coffee making facility in the room.We came again one week later.
Furniture is slightly outdated.
We stayed in the family room which is huge and has 2 communicating (but still completely separate) rooms. Clean, comfortable and with a balcony to enjoy the outside. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Situated right in the town center (no noise in the rooms) with everything in short walking distance. Easy parking. Good breakfast. We found it very good value for money
The hotel is very well equipped and the room was big and comfortable, we enjoyed a nice meal and the staff was friendly, I was surprised to see options without lactose at breakfast as I never saw a hotel provide it and I'm intolerant.
Both breakfast and location were perfect!
The cleaning of the room especially the toilet could be better.
Nice hotel in the downtown area, close to where my work was.
Rigid beds and pillows with very wired linens.
Simple, clean and nice hotel close to the old centre of the town and the castle. Perfect for one night
We were surprised by the view of the castle and medieval village. Other reviews are accurate: helpful but not friendly staff, comfortable beds, spacious family room, bathtub. Buffet continental breakfast (bread, pastry, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, cold meat and cheese slices) was good. Regarding other comments about “dated” furnishings, yes they are older but of the solid classic European style. I’d rather have solid than trendy which breaks and chips after a few uses!
The clock of the church does chime loudly every hour until midnight and then begins again around 7am.
The room had all we needed for a family of four. Was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was quite good.
Just small things. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom. The shower had weak pressure, probably due to the shower head, which was not very good.At breakfast it wasn't possible to heat toasts. Still the breakfast was really good with plenty of choices.
