- Fantastic staff, comfortable bed. Accommodating when I had to move the booking by one day. Great communication. Wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of options.
- The location was a bit off the main road, which was a huge plus. The common seating areas had great views of the ocean, and the overall ambiance was excellent.
Cons -
- Tiny stall shower in the bathroom.
- Nothing to improve.
- The isolation is a positive and a negative.

Fantastic staff, comfortable bed. Accommodating when I had to move the booking by one day. Great communication. Wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of options.
Tiny stall shower in the bathroom.

The entire staff at the hotel was very welcoming and accommodating. We were given a room upgrade, which the greatly appreciated. The view from our room, with the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other, was lovely. Our meals at the hotel restaurant were fantastic. The waitstaff was attentive and personable.
Omg just everything. Amazing staff, food, decor. Wow.
Nothing to improve.
This hotel has beautiful short walking trails all around it and it’s an easy walk to Budakirkja. The place is serene and has a nice relaxing bar. The restaurant is convenient since the hotel is in a fairly isolated location, but the dinner choices are limited and expensive and the portions are very small. Don’t end your day here hungry.
The isolation is a positive and a negative.
This hotel is in an extremely special and beautiful (and isolated) location in Iceland. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was extremely tasty (but $$$$$$$).
This hotel is in a very special but isolated location. It is very expensive. So it was very disappointing that we booked a queen bed and got two twins pushed together. And not even like with a queen topper or a queen fitted sheet over them. It was also disappointing that for the money paid for a special room -- there is no coffee making option provided in the room. It is so unusual nowadays when even more basic hotels provide that. On check out, I asked and the front desk person -- then -- told me there is complementary coffee available from 8-10 only in the dining room. This was not told to us at check in. The breakfast is not included in any room option and is VERY expensive (but the price is difficult to find on the website). There are no options around so I guess they have a monopoly and can charge a lot.
Stunning spot. View from our first floor room was incredible. Very comfortable lounge and common spaces. Staff is excellent, friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are great. Location can't be beat if you're on your way to explore the Snaefellsness Peninsula.
I gather we were in an older wing and in an accessible room so the bathroom was a little tight and worn, but not a huge deal to us
Beautiful hotel in a remote beautiful setting.
No small fridge in the room (even in a suite room).
Amazing location miles from anywhere, stunning scenery in all directions.Very plush rooms with balcony... with view of nearby church and out over ocean.Fantastic restaurant and lovely comfy bar to chill in.
TV didn't seem to work for any channels, not that it really mattered that much, but seems pointless having it there?
This place was dreamy! As we drove up to the property, I bought a dozen she greeted us at dusk, right in front of the hotel. We immediately went to see the black church behind the property and got amazing pictures/no people. We did the same thing at sunrise. We got upgraded to a suite with a balcony overlooking the ocean and got incredible sunrise views. The bad was comfortable. It was nice having a separate sitting room. The highlight might’ve been the food because it was probably the best food we had on our 10 day trip which is saying a lot because all of our meals were sensational. This is a great spot to view the northern lights. Dreamy. If you don’t get a suite, there are plenty of wonderful sitting areas with fireplaces to gather.
Beautiful property and location Staff were all excellent and the wedding we attended at the hotel was wonderful
Room was stuffy with no window to open
The location
The dinner was not as good as other restaurant such as hotel Gulfoss for the same dish and much more expensive. Room was ok nothing special.
The location is the only star I would give.
This Hotel charges as it is a 5 stars hotel and is far from that. No telephone in the room ( no access to front desk, restaurant, etc) No room service at all!!! No night table and wardrobe is a joke. It is a pity , because the hotel has chances to be an excellent one. Next time We would go to another in that area.
We wish we had known how much we would have loved the hotel, to book more days there! The hotel is elegant, the staff extremely friendly, and the views were amazing! From any direction, you had sweeping views of the valley, ocean, mountains and/or glacier. The restaurant dinners were delicious, and the afternoon happy hour was a nice surprise.
We were originally given a room with a view of the parking lot, but when we asked for a new room, we were immediately switched to one with a view of the valley.
This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. We woke up in the morning and watched sheep grazing right outside our window. Later on, we explored the paths across the moors and watched seals playing in the sea. Truly a special place! Also, they have a great happy hour from 4-6 in the bar.
I have to echo some of the other sentiments here regarding the quality of the restaurant. It is really not good, and incredibly expensive. My fish soup had no fish in it, it was just a bowl of broth. Unacceptable in a country where every other fish soup is chock full of delicious chunks of seafood. My lamb was 7,990isk (about $65 usd) and was inedible, very chewy despite being told by our waiter that it was impossible that it would be chewy. It was accompanied by half of a small carrot and a small dollop of potatoes. Even if I had been able to chew it, I would have still been starving. They really have you over a barrel being so far away from other restaurants, and they take full advantage of that. If you can bring food from elsewhere, I would!
Gorgeous location, excellent breakfast, and dinner (not included). Great for access to the fabulous National Park and coastal walk.
Breathtaking location. Beautiful room and thoughtful shared spaces. The staff was very professional and our room was exceptional. We hope to come back in the future.
Exceptional country inn, awesome views, delicious dinner and superior buffet breakfast spread. Warm and welcoming staff & customer service. We did not expect this in the middle of nowhere and were very pleasantly surprised. 10/10. Highly recommend staying here if you are passing through the area.
Nothing!!
Great location and great lobby
I’m a skinny guy and I couldn’t fit in shower, Dinner portions tiny
