    Pros +

    • Staff friendly the meal was good. Amazing breakfast best that I have had in France. Really comfortable bed .
    • Room nice and quiet large walk in shower, dinner was excellent in fact the best meal I had in the 7 weeks I was away, plenty of parking, slighty off the beaten track but with easy access to motorway and sightseeing in Sees
    • The restaurant food was outstanding and very good value for money. The setting was beautiful with lovely outdoor space and an area to have a drink outside.Parking was plentiful, and the room very clean .Tea and coffee ..making in the bedroom was a bonus.

    Cons -

    • Our room needed some redecoration
    • The hotel corridors were looking tired, new flooring would be a massive upgrade, we did smell drains in the corridor, but not in our room or in the main body of hotel
    • The stairs were tricky for those with limited mobility and there was no stair rail to hold onto. The room furnishings were in need of a refurbishing and the shower over the bath had a very steep step out to the bathroom floor with no safety hand rail. The toilet flush was broken and caused a problem

The rooms are very small, but adequate. It is an outstanding value. The setting and rooms are very, very quiet.Dinners at the restaurant are excellent. Choice of 2 versus 3 courses was much appreciated. Breakfast offered a plentiful selection. The woman serving in the breakfast room was charming and brought a special glow to the morning.

The water in the bathroom could have been hotter.

Very quiet location 5 mins from the A28. Plenty of parking. Excellent restaurant for your evening meal and a good breakfast.Friendly family-run place.Standard room was a good size with a large walk-in shower. Very comfortable king-size bed. Quality linen and towels.

Decor a bit shabby in places but not a big issue. Wifi variable.

Lovely rural location, very friendly staff ideal for us just an hour from Caen ferry port. The evening meal was superb.

Looks as if the corridor where the ground floor bedrooms are is in the process of being repainted. It was a bit tatty and the carpet was a bit threadbare and paint splattered.

Breakfast was delicious ; lots of locally produces yogurt, cheese, charcuterie, unusual jams.We particularly always appreciate the excellent coffee, made fresh for each person ;The patron has no plans for installing a coffee machine !Dinner is exceptional, delicious with good choice on the menu.

it was difficult to make a judgement because apart from a late arriving and early departure guest we were alone in the hotel. They tried hard to oblige and were welcoming. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. The situation was ideal for access to the Payage for onward drive towards Calais. Potential!

The decoration and carpet to ground floor room would benefit from attention.

The restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed our dinner very much. This was our second visit on route from Dieppe to Dordogne. The hotel is conveniently placed for that and it is calm and quiet in the countryside. Our room was quite a good size with a comfortable king-size bed. The shower worked very well. There were enough power sockets for phone charging and there was a hairdryer in the bathroom. There were plenty of mirrors, but not one on the dressing table but that didn't bother me as I don't wear makeup anymore. The staff are friendly.

Although I like this hotel a lot there are a few things that I didn't like. The pillows were awful, small, square, hard and overstuffed. The pillow cases were in a knobbly ruched material. I didn't sleep well because of my pillow. I don't remember the pillows being that bad when we stayed last time. The room and corridor were being decorated but were unfinished which made them seem a bit shabby, though they will be nice when finished. The washbasin had a tap that turned on by passing your hand in front of a sensor and the water stopped too soon after moving your hand. There wasn't a plug so you couldn't fill the sink with water. This was awkward for my partner who likes wet shaving.

Very good restaurant. The open fire was a nice welcome touch. We appreciated the mineral water supplied in the room.

I was a little disappointed with the room, it just wasn’t cosy. Overall this hotel is a little on the tired side and could do with some redecoration. However, the bed was large and comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep.

Very pretty and in beautiful rural location

It could do with a little touching up. All very clean but a bit frayed in places.

    8RobinPosted on: 10-20-2024

Quiet room with decent double bed. Good dinner and breakfast.

Rather small bathroom and very small adjacent lavatory.

    9PriscillaPosted on: 10-11-2024

I have stayed at the hotel several times because it is ideally located when breaking journeys to/from the coast. Quiet location in the country. The food is outstandingly good. Very good value for money

Recent changes at the hotel meant my room was up a narrow staircase and along a twisty passage . I had to ask someone to carry my case to and from my room.Signs for the hotel in the village of Mace are hard to find!

A lovely looking house in the countryside and a very quiet location Good on site restaurant for a tasty supperBreakfast was good, and the warm bread delicious

The room itself was very basic and poorly maintained.

    7MichelePosted on: 10-5-2024

Very quiet, in the middle of nowhere - perfect location. The restaurant for dinner was good if lacking a little in atmosphere. Perfect for a one night stop en route to the Shuttle. Breakfast was fine - various cold meats, cereals, croissant, etc.Kettle in room which is always welcome. Busy staff.

It could be fabulous but does need money spending on it. I'd say it was a little 'tatty' but there had evidently been some upgrading. Guess you can't do it all at once. Please - unstick the internal door under the 'Hotel' sign!

FOOD was really good . One of the best meals in France at a reasonable price. Lovely environment and not too far from Dieppe I would go back

bedroom wasnt that great but the beds were comfortable, no complaints as they were relatively inexpensive. Also b ooked at high season a short notice so was grateful

Beautiful country location. Private parking. We had dinner which was excellent and their was a good choice of menu.

Unable to check in when arrived an hour earlier.

    8LindaPosted on: 10-1-2024

Friendly staff. Excellent dinner. Quiet location.

Badly cracked sink. Grouting around Bath.

    8JamesPosted on: 9-30-2024

Convenient place to stop off with a good restaurant. Had an excellent dinner with good choice of wines.

Bedrooms are ok but fittings and decor are a little ‘tired’!
