    Pros +

    • The location is historic and unbeatable, the dinner food and service were outstanding, the staff provided great information about the city and where to go for the steam train experience. We had nice room on the top floor, spacious and well-equipped.
    • An exceptional hotel in a wonderful town. A perfect location just in the center. Convenient parking, friendly staff, delicious breakfast. The room is cosy and spacious.
    • Lovely hotel in a central location. Very quiet at night - we deliberately chose a room to the side, rather than overlooking the market square, Our comfort double room was lovely, a really good size. The bathroom was very big too. All very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was great, lots of choice. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

    Cons -

    • The breakfast could have been better - in general it has good selection of food, but it was very busy, not everything was refreshed, so I felt like you need to be early there to get the whole offer.. I don't like to be rushed at mornings. They could offer a la carte dishes as well, or refill the food more intensively, given the amount of guests. The other thing - I found this to be expensive stay, which I wrote down to the extra long weekend period we stayed, yet with roughly 400eur per room per night it is luxury level, and hence the expectations are very high.
    • I think this is typical of German hotels, but it’s so hard to get a cup of tea in an evening! No kettle in the room and I could only get one at the bar while the kitchen was open. But really this is a very minor gripe, and my only one!
    • Client terribly ignored, I have never experienced far far like this style. Hotel or money machine?Paid extra top room, however the room temperature out vs. in very similar, January, round 5°C, kind od military excercise, no reaction of the hotel personnel. The breakfast with no beauty or invention, boring and all in all, my stay was a waste of money, lost one day in "als" prison cold condition.Wernigerode deserves more than this

Nothing special, client is not #1 at all

Central location, attractive property all very clean and comfortable

Probably my own fault - I asked for a quiet room so we were given a top floor room which meant that there were height restrictions in parts of the room - banged my head a couple of times!

The hotel was warm welcoming and comfortable in a great location. The food was good.

We had only one meal that wasn't good because the food was outrageously over priced.

Excellent location. We had a view of Wernigerode Rathus from our window. Very clean hotel, delicious food and very kind and helpful staff at the reception.

Parking is too expensive in my opinion.

Great location in the main square. Very easy parking at the rear of the hotel. Room very comfortable. Helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent as was the dinner.

    10RobertPosted on: 7-17-2024

Beautiful historic hotel in prime location. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

A longer walk from the station than we expected - but the hotel dircted us to the local bus back at the end of our visit!

    Hotel Ambience.

Had an issue with the booking which staff were intransigent about. Not very helpful in finding a resolution, rather wanted to charge much more money which we had to pay so left a bad taste in the mouth.

    10RichardPosted on: 6-16-2024

The location is perfect. Right at the main square. The breakfast was fabulous. Large clean rooms. Very friendly staff.

    10JoanPosted on: 6-13-2024

Friendly staff in great central location on market square. Superb breakfast and service. Excellent dinner service.

    10CelinePosted on: 6-4-2024

The hotel is not only perfectly located (opposite the Rathaus and on the marketplace), it also has a large parking (both inside and outside). The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a highlight by uts quality and variety. The restaurant was excellent as well. Our room was large (family) and quiet, the bathroom as large and with enough towels for everyone and more. The facilities were very clean, We had a wonderful stay at the Weißer Hirsch and we're very happy with our choice of hotel and city. Wernigerode is absolutely charming.

The sofa-bed mattress was thin.. It was OK for the kids because they are lightweights, but challenging for us adults.

    Great location and friendly staff

Upper rooms are up long steep stairs - if you have a large suitcase, you will need to ask for elevator access room!

    9TrevorPosted on: 4-27-2024

Centrally located, helpful staff and great ambiance.

    Nothing of any consequence.

    8RicardaPosted on: 4-14-2024

Very clean, large bathroom. Many tourist offers. Big couch bed for kids. Very friendly staff and calm atmosphere. Cozy.

Breakfast buffet was a bit limited compared to other 4star hotels. Soap being too far back to reach for kids. The screens displaying ads by the bank across the street shine (brightly) into the window.

    8SwarthoutPosted on: 3-30-2024

Beautiful, spacious, bright and cheerful room in a perfect location. Very clean and pleasant. Nice bathrooms.

Asked ahead of time about cost for pet and did not receive answer. 18 euro for pet is highest we have ever paid so it would be nice to know price in advance. Beds were fine but mattresses had depression or slope in them which made them less comfortable.

    9IrinaPosted on: 3-14-2024

Wonderful location in the city centre. Room was nicely clean and quite spacious with all necessary furniture.

One moment caused issue to us that we couldn’t order dinner in the room.
