    Pros +

    • Perfect location right next to the castle! The check in process was smooth and friendly for those enjoying road trips. Very cosy room, and decent breakfast.
    • The apartment was big and had everything necessary for a long stay. The hotel is located in a calm area. You can reach both city center and the castle on foot. By check-in we received two tickets which allowed us to take buses in the whole Harz region.
    • Nice traditional building next to the castle. The room was spacious and provided coffee and tea. The shower was tiny, no issue with me though, but it's definitely not for overweight people.Breakfast was good; had quite a variety of stuff to choose from, and lots of options for tea lovers. The serving hall was BEAUTIFUL, giving the notion that breakfast is served inside the castle.

    Cons -

    • A bit far from the centre and even further from the train station.
    • Breakfast was ok but the bread rolls from the bakery would have been nicer. The ones we had seemed to be the “ bake at home” ones… Also to have a person at the reception all the tome would be better than just for 2 hrs in the morning and afternoon.
    • The most uncomfortable bed i slept in years :(( The breakfast was also kind of disappointing, no vegan options, no lactose-free milk, they don’t feel in the dishes, so if you come after 10 ( the breakfast is till 11) be ready to eat whatever left.

Nice hotel with a private parking and a beautiful view on the castle. Nice and polite service people.

Okay for one night sleep, breakfast was good

Hair dryer was not working, bed was too soft, TV issue

Big parking. Beautiful building. Electric kettle in the room.

There is a noisy road next to the hotel. There were no vegetables for breakfast, like at least sliced tomato or cucumber. There is no coffee machine in the dining room, and the hotel offers only instant coffee in a thermos. The automatic check-in device did not work. There was a nest of wasps next to our room window. Tight shower cabin. The lift stops only on every other floor.

It's on the edge of town so it's quiet and easy to get to with parking on site. The room is comfortable.

    The shower was pretty tight

Clean and welcoming; free parking, short walk into town. Excellent breakfast.

    Nothing to dislike.

Great staff, excellent breakfast in a picturesque dining room and within walking distance to the town center.

The staff were very friendly and the room was cosy and clean. Breakfast was good and the free bus pass was really nice

A charming hotel "Garni" [which I believe means breakfast but no restaurant] in an old building. It is a little way from the town centre but in a quiet area with a short walk to the stations and shops

It was fine. Reception closes at 730pm and if you are later they leave a key

beautiful traditional timbered hotel with very friendly staff. We loved our room, so sunny & quiet. Bathroom is small but very comfortable and very modern. One of the nicest bathrooms since a while. Very clean. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet was also plenty with a large selection and was quickly refilled by friendly staff. even the castle was visible. We loved exploring the city, so so beautiful. We’d love to return.

    all good

Enjoyed my couple of days at Furtenhof Hotel. A clean and comfortable Hotel near the centre of Wernigerode with free parking. The breakfast buffet was sufficient with a varied choice of foods. Friendly helpful staff too.

Location was great. Also great Breakfast and friendly staff.

Sauna was only open until 7pm and we could not use it.

    10BudiPosted on: 11-6-2022

Excellent location with plenty of parking space for guests. Friendly staff. The room was very clean, rustic charm but with a modern, refurbished bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower. Nice selection of food for breakfast. Would definitely return if we ever visit Wernigerode again.

    We liked everything!

Location, friendly reception and excellent breakfast lady who made fresh croissants for us ! It was a comfortable stay.Free parking in front of the hotel too.Room was clean too.

Nothing to mention except that our room is above the breakfast restaurant, stairs to climb,no lift in hotel,so if you have heavy luggage it will be a problem. Inform the hotel that you have heavy luggage, perhaps you get a room on the ground.

    Small window

Great staff. Great room. Great Breakfast.

The city has a mandatory 3 euro charge per person, per day for tourist fee. We were not aware of this until we checked out.
