Very nice staff, very nice breakfast, in walking distance to everything in werningerode.

Unfortunately we had a room towards the street which was extremely noisy at night.

Very good location. Great breakfast. I had a very comfortable room on the 3. floor (American 4. floor) of the main building. Good restaurant in house with good traditional German food.

No elevator, which was a major problem because of my knee issues . It was very hot during my stay. The room had a small window, a fan, but no AC. The nights where unbearable since the room temperature didn’t drop much, despite running the fan all night.

This hotel has been redecorated / refurbished recently, everything is so clean, so tastefully furnished, shower fantastic, bed comfortable. I arrived a little later than check-in due to DB trains putting me 2 hours behind schedule, but that was n9 problem for the staff. I didn't eat in the restaurant because I was too tired but the menu looked very good value. There is a cheap on-site sauna. Beer garden. The breakfast is one of the best I've had in ages with so much choice and the server is just too good and too happy for that time of the morning! I stayed in 2 rooms and the quality was consistent. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from DB and HSB teain stations.

Excellent location on the edge of the main town area and a short walk from the railway station. Access to all areas is by keycard making it safe.

The reception is only open to 20:00 (8pm), which some people may find to be a problem.

Close to DB & HSB stations, in the centre of town with plenty of shops, eateries, etc. nearby. My single room was clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped. Superb breakfast served in the restaurant, with lots of fresh hot & cold options.

I can't really say that there was anything I disliked, all boxes were ticked & then some.

A well-placed hotel in Wernigerode on one of the main streets through the town. The room had an excellent bathroom and the selection at breakfast was just right for me, with very friendly staff.

Our room had inconvenient stairs leading downwards when opening the door and the room was pretty small. Other rooms however are much better situated.

The room was clean and comfortable. Secure car park (for a smallish fee). The food was good. The staff were friendly. The restaurant is very popular and busy, but service was good.

Our room was on the upper floor. The stairs were steep and there was no lift. The room we had faced south and was very hot when we arrived, and no air conditioning. A notice on the website that the restaurant was closed on Sunday would be good. We arrived on a Sunday and had to walk into the town to find a meal. Not a big deal, there were plenty of places to choose.

Location and price

These are not dislikes, simply advice to make your (recommended) stay more convenient. Check in is only staffed from 15:00, it’s a well refurbished old building which has no lift so beware of stairs to all floors if you’re not very fit. Although the hotel description says it’s possible to book a parking space they really mean PRE BOOK to be sure of getting one.

Comfortable room with everything we needed for a good price. Breakfast was delicious!

The sheets on the bed weren't my favorite material, felt a little rough, but not too bad.

Located right at town entrance. Short walk from train station. Near Hartz Mountain Steam train. Excellent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Friendly staff.

Staff are amazing - the best service in Germany. Comfortable room with a small fridge, fan for the summer heat, and a TV bigger than at home. Less than 10 minutes' walk to the train station. Exceptional breakfast with a lot of different fruits, salad, and meats with delicious fresh bread. Will certainly stay again!

We are a delicious evening meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was excellent. Great staff, good location.

I was very disappointed that they imposed a€25 fine for arriving after 8pm!I contacted them from my train journey as I had a delayed and cancelled train which meant I arrived late.I emailed the property to advise them I would be late and their reply was and I quote ‘Late check in costs €25’If that is their attitude then don’t stay!!

The check-in process could have been smoother (we arrived early afternoon, and had to wait quite a while for someone to answer the phone and check us in).The evening food in the restaurant (at least for vegetarians) is disappointing. It has the feeling of all being processed, and nothing freshly made.

This is a medium-sized hotel/restaurant housed in fairly recently refurbished buildings and very conveniently located for the railway-station, Altstadt and Schloss. Our room was smallish but very modern and clean. Although it overlooked the courtyard of the restaurant, good windows and a strict 'no noise late at night' policy meant that we were not disturbed. The hotel also offered a good breakfast, and all was at a very reasonable price.

We found the semi-independent relationship between the the hotel and restaurant, both in the same building-complex, rather odd. One result of this is that the hotel's reception is not manned throughout the day, which meant that we never really go to know its staff. Another is that if hotel guests want to eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant they have to reserve a table directly with the restaurant staff. In addition, although we found the restaurant staff generally friendly, they could be rather prescriptive, even 'bossy', in making a booking or, indeed, in eating breakfast, when they appeared over-anxious as to who should sit at what table. As far as the hotel itself is concerned, we were lucky to have warm sunny weather when we were there, but found that this made our room over-warm at night. We couldn't find any sign of an air-conditioning unit and could only hope that at the height of summer the hotel will provide electric fans for cooling.
