About
This beautiful castle set in the heart of a 25-acre park blends the pleasures of a Renaissance château with the comfort of a boutique hotel and was once a hideaway for Henry IV. The Château de Saint Paterne has comfortable guest accommodations with refined atmosphere. Fitted with bath or shower and antique furniture, they overlook the park or the courtyard. At the Orangerie you will find a suite decorated with a beautiful stage from the 19th-century which came from the Barcelona theater, monumental wood bed and unique view of the park and the castle. The charming outdoor swimming pool heated from early May to end of September is dedicated to your relaxation, and a Wi-Fi Internet access is available, as well as many recreational and sports activities in the nearby area. In the evening, a French candlelight dinner is served on small tables. The cuisine is traditional yet creative, with fresh produce of high quality. Situated only 2 hours from Paris, near the old city of Alençon, Saint Paterne is the ideal retreat to fully explore the Loire or Normandy.

Beautiful traditional French chateau with welcoming people and lovely food. It feels like you are staying in a friend’s home
Outstanding from Start to Finish Friendly welcome, amazing building! Wonderful grounds with Table Tennis and Badminton! The evening meal was full of flavours and the wine selection was great! Everything throughout our stay was fantastic no complaints at all
Oozes charm

We loved how cozy the chateau was , excellent decor , the fact that there were pre dinner drinks with other guests and that the owner came to join us , also the 3 course dinner was fabulous , the chef also came and introduced himself which was a lovely touch . Breakfast was continental and also excellent , beautifully presented . I Wouid love to stay here again as we only had one night of stay longer .Highly recommend .
Our stay was a delightful experience.Friendly, helpful staff.Beautiful chateau with all the quirks of an ancient building.Dinner by candlelight was special.Reasonably priced wine.
Charm of the staff, character and size of the property and superb dinner, with the pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room
Bathroom was a bit cramped
Wonderful ambiance, lovely hosts and staff and a stunning place to stay. This wasn't our first stay at Chateau St Paterne and we will definitely return. It is always completing charming and an utterly relaxing experience. Dinner was lovely in the beautiful dining room and a stroll round the grounds with pre dinner aperitifs on the terrace with the other guests a really lovely touch.
The setting in the chateau and the format for the evening meal makes for a great evening. The proximity to the motorway and yet perfect peace and tranquility make it an excellent stop over location.
The chalet is great for young families. The children would love 5the adventure in the woods. Not so sure for us older folk!
A friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the garden. The chateau is beautifully decorated with interesting objects but also feels very homely.
Nothing!
The most beautiful setting. Dinner served outside on the lawn which was delicious. Lovely ambience and very stylish great location for a pitstop on route from the UK.
I loved the old world charm of this place, coloured by a friendly and helpful host and hostess with excellent food. The grounds are beautiful to walk around or just sit in and watch nature,
Whilst this is clearly an old building and that is part of its charm the floor tiles in the first floor corridor are in such a poor state of repair they are now presenting a tripping hazard and should be attended to in the near future,
Beautiful gardens and relaxing atmosphere. The Chateau is a mix of history and modern comfort - for us, it was the perfect place to enjoy the pool and the summer sun.
Our favourite Château on our two week tour of 6 venues. The staff are just lovely and we really enjoyed mixing with the other guests. The furnishings and design of the Château are stunning and we will be returning again in the future.
Everything is amazing and yes we had dinner.
If I have to pick something, I like a rock-hard pillow. I didn’t bring my pillow and I didn’t ask for another one. Nothing to do with the Château.
Truly a French Chateau experience . It’s imposing and our room was palatial. The grounds are extensive and peaceful
We were disappointed that after our parties dining table collapsed mid dinner we didn’t receive any apology. This may have been a one off event but it did take the gloss off the experience
Beautiful chateau in a charming village. Close to motorway links. Ideal and restful stop if you’re travelling. Pet friendly. We had evening dinner which was fabulous 3 course meal at a very reasonable cost.
Nothing to dislike.
Beautiful château with spectacular rooms and yet very dog friendly. Fabulous grounds.Very attentive host, delicious food.We did not get to enjoy all the amenities as we arrived late on our way to Spain and left early. I regret it.
A small dining table rather than a coffee table would have been a plus to eat our delicious room service dinner.
