Pros +
- The location of the village is spectacular and the view from the back of the property is beautiful. 4 course meal enjoyable.
- The hotel was really nice and super comfortable. Our room was lovely, with a balcony looking out over the woods, so quiet and peaceful! The staff were always kind and helpful, which made the stay even better. I’d definitely recommend it to family and friends, and I’d love to come back again.
- Beautiful views from everywhere on the property, spacious room, private enough balcony, nice pool, good breakfast, we were able to use the pool after check out
Cons -
- It is situated on a busy road where cars race up and down day and much of the night. Furnishings very basic , not really a hotel with cozy nooks. Attitude of management needs improvement
- The only downside was that the food and drinks at the hotel were a bit overpriced.
- Food for dinner was overpriced compared to other hotel restaurants in the area which we ate at, staff were a bit difficult to communicate with at times, made mistakes during dinner and seemed confused by some of our requests, which caused us to have to ask multiple people for simple things you would ask for at a restaurant like ordering a bottle of wine, splitting the bill, etc.

The pool area was very nice. The views at the hotel were beautiful.
We had a family apartment and it was extremely old and rundown. It definitely needs to be refreshed. They also put the couch directly underneath the tv, so there was no way to sit and see the screen. Also, we found the mattresses to be very uncomfortable but that could be a personal preference. The restaurant was very overpriced.
Clean rooms, very friendly staff, a full English breakfast that’s more than enough, very convenient parking in the area, amazing view, a very spacious room, and renovated bathroom and toilet.
The hotel it seems to be mostly empty. The room we received feels very outdated, with furniture that reminds us of an old hostel, and there’s a strange smell in the room.We spoke to the reception to see if something could be done, and they offered us an upgraded room — but only for an extra fee, even though the hotel appears to be far from full.Having worked in the hotel industry myself, I know that offering a complimentary upgrade in this kind of situation — when the hotel is half empty — is not only common courtesy, it’s also smart hospitality.Since we paid close to €600 for just a few nights, it doesn’t feel fair to be asked to pay more for a room that better matches the photos we saw when booking.Unfortunately, the bed and pillow were quite uncomfortable. The mattress felt hard , and the pillow offered very little support, which made it difficult for us to get a good night’s sleep. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher level of comfort.
Nice vacation over Easter weekend with perfect food and nice surrounding for hiking and biking! The location in Steinegg is 15min to Bozen, which was quite convenient to take the free bus for a short city experience. Especially our dinner at Astra was perfect!
Passable
The smell in the room was very strong, and both of us had sore throats when we woke up the next day. The parking space was narrow, and the staff refused to give us the parking place next to it,even though the one we were assigned remained unoccupied until we left the next day.
everything!! the staff was very nice, food was good, service for everything was amazing.the facilities were exactly what we needed, and clean- the room was always warm, we had privacy, we recieved everything we needed.but the view from our room was the best part of our stay!! 100% privacy and mountain view!
the entry to the hotel to do the check in was a bit complicated.... we were with the car and had a bit of trouble to figure out where is the entrance and how to do the check in.but the staff were friendly and helpful!
Very clean, nice room, nice staff
The staff seriously lacks english. The guy who checked us in, barely spoke any english. - How much is breakfast?- seventy for everyone- seventy or seventeen?- yes- seven zero?- yes- is it total or per person per person? (We were 2 adults)- yes, for everyone - can you please write it down?...writes down "16"He was super nice, but yeah. I get it, I don't speak Italian, but I am being fed the wrong info.He said dinner was 40, but at this point I was not sure, the brochure said $150 pp and it was getting a bit ridiculous, so we just ate elsewhere In the morning I was even told by the bartender the croissants laid on the bar were free only to get charged at checkout. When I complained, I was told "they probably didn't understand you. No free food or drinks here"... probably, would've been nice to know beforehand...i still got to pay for itOtherwise everyone was nice. So if I spoke Italian, I would've been just fine
the staff is very friendly, the rooms are huge and comfortable, the view is gorgeous and the spa area is very nice :)
the road to the hotel is full of turns, not the hotels fault but something to consider if you afraid to drive.
Meals were excellent. Location with the view from our room perfect.
Everything great about this hotel. HOWEVER the staff offered to do our laundry. The laundry was returned to us having been done in extremely hot water. Over $500.00 worth or clothing was ruined. Shrunken and dye had run. These were our travel clothes so had been washed many times at 40 degrees at lavaries automatic, with no damage. We sent an email while we were away but unfortunately my phone could not attach the photos. We intended to send them when we arrived home. We received no response to our email, so assumed a follow up would be useless.
We would have wished to try the well known restaurant but we were so much desappointed by the room that we preferred not.
We were driving to Sudtirol in the expectation to be in a quiet place as promoted by this hotel in their description in booking. Unfortunatly we have been giving a room facing a busy road and a bus warehouse where busses were going and coming day and night with all the noise that results. Imposible to stay in the room with the windows opened. And there was no air conditionning. When we try to talk about it with the manager his response was "this is the room you booked and you have seen the pictures". And that is why we felt fooled because neither the booking pictures nor the description of the room did any mention of this balcony 's view litterely on the bus warehouse. If you have thoses rooms you should be honnest and describe the reality otherwiese it is called falsed publicity and you are fooling the clients.
Amazing View. Good location from Bolzano. Good food.
The location is very beautiful on top of the mountains, the staff is amazingly kind, the food is to die for, there was free secured parking available at the property which was very convenient for us - we had our dedicated parking lot which we used for the entire stay. The breakfast is very nice and diverse, I fully recommend this family small hotel and would definitely come back.
The bathroom could be improved a little bit - it looks a little old style.
Small coasy retreat with excellent restaurant and friendly staff.
Loved the facilities, view and poolmeals were incredible!!
Bed was extremely uncomfortable
This is the most charming hotel. It is really personal and everything is done with such love and care. The team are all really personally involved and that is reflected in the great service and experience
Nothing really. I think on arrival clearer sign of where to go (went to the place next door). But all fabulous
Nice location and view.
Early check outOutdated rooms, look very improvised.Tried to overcharge me.Kept addressing me as Mrs., I’m a 190 cm, 42 year old bearded male.
The staff is very kind and helpful, the location is perfect and the room very nice, cozy and clean!
Nothing to mention.
We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful! The facilities are very clean. We definitely enjoyed the heated pool, hot tubs, sauna and massage bed! We appreciated everyone and everything at the hotel. Top notch and recommend everyone stays here!
There is not one single thing we didn't like at this hotel! Wish we could have stayed longer!
