Mercure Hotel Amersfoort Centre

The hotel was conveniently located near the train station. The room was stylish and quiet, and the breakfast was pleasant.

The payment process was unclear and outdated. Upon arrival, the receptionist scanned our credit card and blocked an amount for our stay plus a deposit, explaining that only the actual spendings would be charged at the end. We would have preferred to pay upfront, but no alternative was offered. Additional costs, like breakfast and city tax, were also delayed in billing. After checkout, the blocked amount was increased—likely for breakfast—and then charged, but another unexplained charge also appeared and remains pending. Despite calling twice, messaging through Booking, and sending a follow-up email after a phone agreement, the hotel has still not provided a receipt or invoice.

our 2 rooms (ninth and tenth floor) were really close to the elevator and, Without earplugs, I dare you to have a good night's sleep :-/ it is why I give you a 7 instead of a 9. Our "privilege" rooms did not have privilege calm...

Great location, good breakfast en bar facilities

The hotel is well located, just a short walk to the town center. There are many restaurants close by. There is a mall just across the road with some choices for breakfast if you don’t want to eat in the hotel. The entrance to the parking is at the rear and is for a small mall. It doesn’t say outside that it is also for the hotel. Once inside there are signs for an area with direct access to the lobby. Cost for parking was 13 Euro/night which is reasonable to be so close to the center but if you want to leave during the day you have to pay an additional 13 Euros. It wasn’t a problem for us.

It would have been nice to have a charger for the car in the car park. Driving an electric car this was inconvenient as we had to find a charging place when we left.

Breakfast was nice. Staff was friendly. Booked late at night and room was available right away. There is a Bible translated in four languages in the room which is a rare find nowadays and I truly appreciate it! <3

The place is clean and modern but the style is incredibly un-homey. Everything is huge (doors and sinks, mirror is very high) and it feels very industrial. Not my favorite.

Breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Area was quiet and it felt safe. Bathroom was spacious. Close to public transportation.

There is airco but which has a range. We preferred it could have been set a little more cold at night.

Nice building, nice location

We were in "privilege” rooms. 1. The room temp on arriving was 26*C. Air conditioning would not turn on. Found that I had to close the window. Air conditioning never seemed to produce any cooling. Temp in room at 12 pm was still hot (24*). 2. There was no soap in the shower 3. There was no one at the front desk at 3 pm…waited 10 minutes before anyone showed up. 4. Bartender disappeared from the bar for over 20 minutes finally found him elsewhere. 5. Tv didn’t work in the bar and according to the bar tender rarely does work 6. No bathmat in room and the floor is incredibly slippery.

The location is great, just a few minutes from the city center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was amazing. The shower was wonderful.

The pillows were very uncomfortable. Too small and too high. This issue is a key to be considered in order to give comfort to the guests.

The breakfast was excellent, the room was a good size and clean with air conditioning, the shower was huge and the location was fantastic.

The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable and it was noisy on the Saturday night of our stay ( people were drunkenly running up and down the corridor). That said, the other 3 nights were absolutely fine.

The listing said there were washing facilities but yet when we arrived they said there was no washer or dryer on site. We had selected this hotel for this reason. The hotel needs to make sure their listing is accurate.
