Pros +
- Very cozy rooms and hotel atmosphere. On the way you can see the owner's hand, who makes decorations, appropriate to the season. This is an individual place, it is not a chain hotel, each one is the same, there are fewer and fewer such places
- Lovely historic property, located just off the island, about 25 min walk into the old town. we had a huge suite. Breakfast was really good, very up market.
- A nice historic, superbly maintained mansion run by friendly hosts. Very good breadfast.
Cons -
- The only issue we had was the blackout blind fell down, and there was a misunderstanding with the owner about putting it right, so we didn't have darkness to sleep, minor point but it is expensive to stay so we expected it to be fixed.
- Everything looks great, but the bathroom could be more functional. No air conditioning, no elevator
- The location is in a drab area with a fairly significant walk required to any restaurants or cafes. It's not unmanageable, but I was a bit unprepared for the hike to the main sights etc.

Character-filled building with big, well appointed rooms and friendly owners and staff that make you feel welcome.

Wonderful chateau, yo can feel good taste everywhere, from decoration to breakfast; still remember the delicious black olives they had! Very friendly couple runs the place. Got good advice for visiting the center. Private parking.
Unique decoration. Owners very helpful. Wonderful varied breakfast
The walk to the centre, where the majority of the restaurants are situated, does not go through the most pleasant surroundings. However, there are plenty of car parks if one chooses to drive.
This hotel was an experience in itself. It is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at on my and my family's travels. The owners and staff was incredible welcoming and serviceminded.
The hotel is a short walk from the Lübeck Alstadt, and Google maps led us astray our first walk to the city, so I would recommend to listen to our hosts tips to route to the city center.
Amazing place : a charming castle with warm and delicate decoration. Very room has its own personality. We were under the roof on an exceptional room inspired by the sky. Great comfort, superb breakfast, very warm service. The owners make sure that you feel at home in their wonderful castle.
The surroundings are not great but easy to get to the city by car in 5’.

An amazing hotel/b&b with a lot of old charm. The building and interior are kept up really great, and the owners took exceptional care of ensuring that the decoration gives the exceptional extra flair. The owners were really forthcoming and always ensuring that the stay was great and ready to give additional information about Lübeck and the surrounding area.Full disclosure: we ended up getting lucky and getting a room upgrade
amazing hotel with friendly staff, comfortable and clean room, close to the center of the city.
liked all
The owners were very kind and gave a personal attention to the details. The room were we stayed was beautiful.
We stayed in the room "Heaven on Earth" which was beautiful, but I would like to suggest to put a curtain that blocks out the light of the sun at the door to the balcony.
just lovely in every way from its history to its decor
the character and location
Charming château, very personally decorated rooms and lovely staff. Fantastic breakfast.Safe private parking on the property.
Fantastic room. Lovely building, though in a rather run-down/industrial location. Easy to get to by car. Good footpath to the town, but wouldn't feel safe alone at night.
Breakfast was extra and seemed expensive
Friendly owners and staff, unique and spacious rooms in a romantic set up. Great breakfast. Free and easy parking on site. Easy access to hotel coming from highway.
The cock in the garden waking up, the hens (and us) at 5am in the morning.
Romantic, great room, excellent breakfast and enthusiastic owners
location is outside the centre (20 min walk), but we found the electric scooters available throughout Lubeck an excellent way to deal with this. No issue for us really
We had a dog with, and it was welcome at breakfast. nice. we also got operated to a big room.
we had a accident with my knee, and had to go a day early. but did not get a full refund.
Beautiful house and room, a bit dated but that’s a part of the castle-charm. The couple that runs the place are absolutely lovely and so helpful with whatever questions you may have.Breakfast was great!
The building is amazing and the room was incredible. In summer i expect even better. For winter it maintains a really coosy atmosphere. Great suggestion as well for the dinner.
All nice
