Breakfast was actually better than the staff told us is would be. A little odd it has to be ordered the day before.

No daily cleaning of room - never tried that before, and I'm a world traveler.

It was an incredible experience staying in such a historic building. The room was very spacious! The staff was very helpful - always offered recommendations for finding local favorite places to eat.

The hotel staff was extremely kind; they willingly helped me call the previous hotel to arrange the retrieval of a forgotten item and provided useful information about nearby attractions. I'm very grateful for her assistance. My room had an excellent view overlooking the Trave River. Staying in a hotel converted from a centuries-old building, yet so beautifully maintained, was a wonderful experience.

Although there were minor drawbacks, such as no kettle in the room and no eggs available for breakfast, these did not overshadow the overall great experience

Beautiful building, beautiful room. We had one of the suites with original paintings around the wall and other old features. Very comfortable too. The breakfast was excellent and excellent value for money. Too many places that are already quite pricey charge a ludicrous amount extra for breakfast, but here it was only 10 euros each.

We didn't have breakfast, but the location and atmosphere of the hotel was great

Perhaps more warm touches in the reception area, ie, some art or cushions on the seating.

It is really authentic and located in a perfect part of the city. The hotel manager was extremelly kind and showed the whole building around for us.

The rooms facing to the main road can get a bit noisy

Nothing - all was good!

We loved the beautiful, historic building. Our room, number 4 was literally a museum with a stucco ceiling from the 18th century and frescos, I believe from about the same time. Great shower with good water pressure. The location was amazing. Very friendly staff. We walked everywhere. Restaurants and Cafés are near by. Our favorite place for breakfast and Kaffeezeit was Fräulein Brömse. Delicious food and amazing cake in a tranquil atmosphere.

My husband and I like to cuddle, but the beds don’t allow it, but the bed was comfortable.

Good location

Aircon is needed. The room is located out to a street with noise. It was warm and due to the noise from the street it was difficult to sleep.

Basic breakfast and no air conditioning

A true gem on the "Altstadtinsel" of Lübeck. One of the oldest buildings in Lübeck and renovated with a lot of taste to a very high standard. The room was of a decent size, the bed was very cozy, the breakfast was not a buffet, but was brought to your table. Everything was of a very high quality and very tasty.

Nice hotel near the river in the old city centre. All the interesting sights and nice restaurant are close by. The hotel offers a nice (served) breakfast which is really value for money. Next time i'm in Lübeck i would definitely stay here again.

Location and age

Rooms are extremely basic, no fridge or coffeemaker only the bare necessities and they are small. We were lucky that weather was on the cool side as there is no air conditioning

Excellent location. Excellent view. Excellent continental breakfast, individually prepared and brought to the table.Lovely old building with lots of history. Large room, modern bathroom and everything one could need.Good wifi.Definitely recommend and would happily stay here again.

Quiet and roomy and right on the port. Carola went out of her way to make our stay excellent.

Lovely and historic hotel within easy walking distance of the Altstadt. Interesting to learn about the history of the building. Very nice bathroom and furnishings. Appreciated that it was a nonsmoking and non-pet hotel.

Although it is a nonsmoking hotel, there were smokers in the courtyard. Since our room overlooked the courtyard, we could smell smoke.
