    Pros +

    • Free parking. Good wi-fi Internet. OK breakfast. Friendly staff.
    • We didn't see any staff, we called and were shown around by phone. The rooms are very dirty and smell like sewer. We had difficulty showering because there was mold everywhere, and the air ventilation was full.
    • Both the hotel and its neighborhood were quiet, the room was clean, and the quality of the toilet paper was well above the average of 2-/3-star hotels.

    Cons -

    • Sewage smell in the bathroom. Dust and dirt under beds.
    • Everything, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and book in another hotel
    • At around the age of 50, having travelled around ten percent of the globe, I have an immense experience as to hotels. And having stayed at Berghof by 42, here say I, it is no way an 8/10 venue as claimed on this platform. Other than cleanliness, no single aspect of it deserves a 7, let alone 8+ in total. We stayed here two nights. Neither its far and elevated location, nor its spartan rooms, its supermini and superlow sink, nor its cold coffees at breakfast… Neither the unavailability of decaf caffee, nor its broken sockets, wastebins with broken lids, nor the inadequate horitontal surfaces / hanging points for your articles… Neither were the signs of our understanding of an 8+. Perhaps it was only our room, I cannot be sure (Maybe the other rooms were of better standard), but what I experienced was not 8, but around 5.

Rich Breakfast, helpful personnel, simple infrastructure but with all essentials

Bathroom needs refurbishment, old linens, Remoteness of the hotel (we had to take a taxi just to get to the hotel after 11 p.m)

    Hotel was clean and comfortable

We were cycling to the hotel and didn't realise it was at the top of a very steep hill. When we arrived we discovered the restaurant was closed so there was no way of getting an evening meal

A really nice, clean and cosy little hotel with a good restaurant and a nice quiet location. Very friendly people. Dog friendly also. I travelled with a dog. I would definitely go again. I had my own entrance but it depends which room you have.

The property is very tired and could do with a makeover. I would describe as a travelling worker’s accommodation, although at the time of writing, most were holidaymakers. The room was clean and serviced daily.Breakfast was v good, the restaurant was good with acceptable prices.Large carpark.

    Nothing that was mentioned previously

I like that it was a restaurant hotel and very friendly. It was in a quiet area and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful!

I would have liked a couple extra pillows and drapes that block the light coming in. This was room 7.

    Very disappointed

There was no one there to tell us what room, tried to ring them could not get through another customer helped us there was no where to get a hot drink

Booked for two night but was asked to leave Because my brothers friend had an odor. Treated very rudely, not kindly. Also we’re charged fir two night and only got to stay one night.

Very comfortable bed, friendly, lovely location, very peaceful. Good breakfast

    6WilliamPosted on: 11-14-2022

The breakfast was quite nice and the beds were comfortable.

The bedroom really wasn't as nice as made to look on the Booking pictures. The duvets were too thin and the bedroom was cold. I have had much better for the price. I guess it still did the job after all.

    fake hotel with no facilities

it wasn’t an hotel it was just a couple of bedrooms out of a house. no front desk nor hotel appearance. The owner had issues with his POS machine - poor signal - and started screaming and requesting another credit card.

    7JohannePosted on: 9-11-2022

It was very clean and breakfast was good but that is about all!

Upon arrival hotel looks run down, there is no reception and no warm welcome, I had to call a number and the keys were in a safe. It's not a hotel, it's all sort of studios. There was no bar, luckily there was a bottle of water. If you are just looking for a good night sleep then this is good, of you are looking for a cosy hotel, then don't go here. Too expensive for what it was !

    5DavidPosted on: 8-26-2022

Breakfast was fine, the room would have been perfect less for the noise outside the door,

Hotel stated food and also a bar, there was nothing, so people sat outside in the car park, making as much noise as possible, the location would have been ok, but there was nothing to eat and drink near at hand,

    8CarolPosted on: 8-26-2022

Great room very clean good location for our needs.

    5JanaPosted on: 7-5-2022

Breakfast was excellent, parking for free.

Outside of city center. Windows and entrance door would need to change.

Breakfast buffet was good, a little bit more fruits would have been the finishing touch.Bikes can be locked overnight in a former bowling hall.

As the name of the hotel suggests, it is located on a hill of Koblenz, so for visiting the city the options are limited: regular bikes (without engine): forget it, by foot it is about 35 minutes to the Altstadt (historic center). We have not tried public transport from the hotel, but it is most likely very limited. One day we walked down and up later on, another day we parked our car at ~ 5 km's from downtown and biked into town (which was quite pleasant). If you have an electrical bike, the location is likely ok.Upon arrival on a Friday afternoon (around 17h00) there was no-one around, so we had to call the owner/custodian (the number was clearly indicated on the front door) who had to guide us through a procedure to take a key from a safe next to the front door. Based on our replies about our bikes, he first gave us a room which he then changed to another room. Not really a transparent process, and quite cumbersome for a customer on telephone roaming.
