    Pros +

    • Near the canal, good value for the money! The staff was very helpful. They have an outdoor locked terrace where you can store your bike overnight.
    • "When you're here, you're family" is what it feels like to stay here for me. There's the flexibility with breakfast and the personal attention, should you want or need it. I think my favorite thing is to sleep with the windows open and hear the old church bells chime the hour and half-hour. The ferry is a few minutes away by foot and the train station, a short, scenic walk.
    • Location and friendly staff

    Cons -

    • There's very little to complain about, in fact, it would be nitpicking. Maybe the way the front door sometimes wouldn't close all the way on its own? Or perhaps that breakfast was so big with so many options I couldn't possibly eat it all? See what I mean? Nothing to complain about.

Great location in a walking area. Room is small but for 1 night stay is fine.

A cat's smell and not enough lightening in the bathroom. On Sunday there is no staff available. So it is self service to check out.

Comfortable Clean. The staff very helpful and pleasant. Situation on edge of canal within easy reach of restaurants great. Safe cycle parking in locked uncovered enclosure.Restaurant serving tapas looked great but we had not booked so could not get a table.

Nothing really, the stairs very steep but that appears the norm in Holland. No lift

Good location, good meal in the tapas bar adjoined to the hotel

Very steep stairs, not great for luggage, we booked breakfast for 8.30am, not expecting us till later, confirm your breakfast time, as the breakfast staff were unhelpful

    position in down-townvery cosy.restaurantexcellent breackfast!!!

room is tiny, which is acceptable for an historic buildingwindow would not close wellI think price is a bit too high, if you want to go on business,

The location of the hotel, near the harbour

There was no lounge in the hotel. No place were you could sit and have a drink. No dry place for our bicycles to be parked. The rooms were rather small, with no cupboards for clothes.

Modern hotel with comfortable rooms. Was an issue with room heating but this was sorted promptly. Very good breakfast with options made to order. Busy Tapas bar looked popular but didnt use.

    All good

The location is perfect for walking around town and getting to the ferry easily. It's a gem, managed by folks who care about making sure things are as nice as possible for all their guests. Leaving the window open lets in fresh air and the sounds of the church bell (photo of the view from Rm.203, looking toward the church, is attached). I don't know how or why but the beds are by far the most comfortable I've slept on.... maybe it was the pillow? Comforter?

The hot water in the bathroom sink - a well-known issue, I found out - made a shuddering noise when the kitchen below used hot water. It was easy to get used to and a little funny once I knew what the sound was. Chalk it up to the charm of an old building. The hotel part of the business is going to get remodeled anyway at the start of the new year so I'm looking forward to the next visit to see how it turned out.

A nice room with a very comfortable bed. Air conditioning was quiet and efficient. The room was very quiet and overlooked the canal.

    9JohnPosted on: 9-18-2023

Very good location, and nice room for a very good price.

The breakfast was a little overpriced for what we had. We weren't told at the outset we could have scrambled eggs and bacon. When we were told, we had already helped ourselves to what was laid out. A small point, really, though!

Friendly staff, convenient checkin and checkout, super central!

The shower construction! Water ran out easily, there was no shower curtain and the bathroom seemed a bit tilted, so the water ran into the room, onto the carpet floor :0 Had to keep towels on the ground.

Quiet, clean and comfortable with friendly staff.

Room was a little bit small.

Lovely room overlooking the canal. Plenty of space, very comfortable. Tapas evening meal was delicious with amazing range of choices. Really good breakfast, very friendly service.

    Nothing needed

Good room, good value, excellent breakfast. But more than that, it was the staff - friendly and helpful in many ways.
