    Pros +

    • The ambience, the activities, the restaurants, the room and the view.
    • The views of the lake, the food and drinks.
    • Everything was amazing - from the accommodations to the amazing food (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the views! The views from each corner of the hotel property are amazing. We really enjoyed the Jacuzzi tubs!

    Cons -

    • Location is down a very bumpy dirt road and it's difficult to get to when it's raining. Sharp blind turns that are dangerous at night and when it's raining and it rains there a lot and very heavy
    • I did not feel welcomed. Dismissive staff, my room was not cleaned. Makeup stained bath robes, and wash cloths, they charge for dental kits? jacuzzi settings were not working properly, also was not cleaned properly. The road getting there is horrible. I got there @8a and had to wait till 3p to be accommodated. I got sunburned waiting. Mind you, I sent an email letting them know if I could be accommodated in advance before me getting there. When I arrived told me they couldn’t use the card on file which I made the reservation to book the room with because it’s considered FRAUD in Colombia. At checkout they proceeded to read out loud all my room service. And ask for tip.
    • The prices on the menu are high for the local customer. For example, COP 15.000 for a bottle of Ginger Ale is a little too much. To reserve one of the sitting areas by the deck with time limit for COP 600,000 minimum consumption, is high. Remember you have to.add 19% tax plus tip.

It is a very nice place to stay, the staff is great and service oriented. The breakfast buffet offers food for all kinds of taste, is well prepared and nicely displayed. The atmosphere of the whole hotel is lovely, every plant is in harmony wirh the architecture. Nice!

The breakfast was amazing, lots of variety and options to choose from. Had standard breakfast buffet style and also had the option to order a personalized breakfast as well

Location and view was nice. Hotel architecture and design was also beautiful and gave you a comfortable feeling. Menu was really good.

Doors were not very sound proof, you can hear people outside talking. The tv remote was not working well, but this was later changed when we called front desk but nothing major.

Wow, Wow, Wow. This place is world class. Spectacular view over the lake and surrounding mountains with a good view of Peñol are spectacular. The restaurant is excellent. The staff are amazing. The grounds phenomenal. We loved everything about it. Great value for money. Marriott really did good with this one.We loved going out for dinner and wandering the streets of Guatape. Definitely worth a visit.

The hot water was hit or miss.

    The view, rooms and facilities.

The service was terrible (3 star at best), the lack of things in the room like cotton pads, 2 waters, amenities.

    2EricPosted on: 6-15-2025

    View and location is great.

The staff has no sense of hospitality. We arrived 2 hours before checkin and they informed us that the room was ready but we had to pay $50 extra? Ridiculous money grab for no reason. Food was marginal at best. Very average cuisine. The one highlight was our server Yoni who is a true professional. The check in agents were not friendly. They also have these cool cabanas in the pool that sit empty all the time bc they charge $150 just to sit there. Even at 9 pm when no one is around. They just don’t understand hospitality at all. Instead they choose to gouge the guest every chance they get.

My father and I arrived to the hotel with my Colombian girlfriend of several years and her friend. My father and I are older gentlemen and my girlfriend and fiancee are younger and we were denied access based on our age differences claiming that we were a bad reflection on the family oriented environment. The manager made a judgement based on our ages that it was inappropriate for the "reputation" of the hotel. He asked me to prove that I knew my fiancee with photos which I promptly did but with reluctance because I had never been asked this before in my entire life. I felt abused and mistreated and judged. Even after proving that I had in fact known my fiancee and showing him the ring he still proceeded to not allow us to check in. We were in the middle of nowhere after a three hour drive from Medillin with nowhere to stay and no reservation and no taxi available. Worst experience of my life and most embarrassed I have ever been. Needless to say I don't recommend this hotel.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel Everything was very, very nice. I especially loved the beautiful view, the relaxing pool, and the excellent restaurant. The staff were also incredibly nice and helpful. The whole experience was peaceful and enjoyable. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to others.

The only thing I didn’t like was that I couldn’t stay longer.

Everything about the property is top-from the pool that is second to none the Koi pond that surrounds you swimming in the pool. It’s just exceptional architecture. Eco system is thriving. The scenery is spectacular. Everything about the property will blow anybody’s mind just tranquil. They have boats jet skis available on demand to rent just an exceptional place. If you ever have a chance to come this is the place to stay hands-down.

Everything the staff the rooms the Jacuzzi is on the deck of the room overlooking the lake. The pool area is a mindblower breakfast included, exceptional buffet, exceptional staff you would expect nothing less from a place like this and great value.

    Location, niceness of the staff

Rooms cold, service not good despite nice staff

    9AvnerPosted on: 2-21-2025

    Amazing facilities

The room had a bit of a smell but it was clean and beautiful

    5GaborPosted on: 2-17-2025

Spectacular views, good breakfast spread, great facilities

Very isolated location accessible only by a barely passable dirt road full of potholes. If you organize a boat from Guatape to drop you off, the hotel charges $25 to step onto their dock. The hotel has no shuttle either to the rock or to Guadalupe Village. If you want to go, you are on your own. This is the top accommodation in the area, yet the staff at the front desk does not speak English.

The views were amazing. The rooms were very clean. Hotel arranged transportation for us.

Noisy: music playing constantly mostly due to loud tourist boats on the lake. Rooms were a bit small. Hotel annoyingly charges for small items like coffee and water. Stingy on coffee cups for the room. These are small things but for a hotel that is supposedly 5-star you don’t want to have to think about small, annoying charges for little things.

The beautiful facilities, water pressure, temp.

The road to get to the facilities is un-paved and harsh to traverse. When it rains it's a mud filled slipperry rocky endeavor. Our car almost got stuck trying to come in. Also, the heater did not work in the room it got fairly cool in the high hours of the night, and I turned on the central heating and would not come on. Also, it was not the hotels fault, but there was a lighting strike in the middle of the night that knocked out the power for a few minutes and when it came back the water was shut off maybe for about and hour.
