Very noisy at night. Difficult to sleep. The cleaning staff very rude. Have stayed 4 nights without cleaning or adding shampoo or shower gel.

Had a really relaxing few days at Guesthouse Vertoef. The lobby and shared spaces are very laid back and welcoming — it feels comfortable straight away. The room was calm and minimal, with everything there for a reason. I especially liked the old-fashioned kettle and hot plate — making coffee in the morning was a nice change from the usual hotel setup.Nijmegen itself is full of character, and Vertoef is a great base for exploring. It’s right across from the central station, which makes getting around very easy. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in the city.

Decent sized room (after coming from tiny rooms in Amsterdam). Very clean with good lighting (we have two massive windows). Good location.

No night staff. It's ok, but I'd feel better knowing someone was around.

Kitchen without any cutlery or plates. Room was cold. Reception closes at 21:00 no bar. Noisy location.

they don't care about customers

Very much disappointed in how they treat customers at Guesthouse Vertoef.I went to Nijmegen at the end of Nov 2025 for an event with quite an intense programme. I’m a light sleeper, and it was very important for me to be able to get a good night’s rest.I booked a room with an extended cancellation option, because I saw that Guesthouse Vertoef is located at a busy intersection. I texted them to ask if they could reserve a quite room for me, which they confirmed. Had they not, I would have cancelled the reservation.During check-in I enquired if the room that I was getting (306) was quiet, as requested earlier. The receptionist confirmed it was.I was in the room only briefly during the day, and I did not think I had to check if the room was quiet indeed, after two confirmations from the hotel staff.When I returned to the room in the evening, it turned out to be not quite at all. I could hear the heavy traffic, even with my earplugs in. The reception was already closed, so I could not ask for a change.In the morning I complained to the receptionist, but he could not do anything and asked me to contact the info email address. I did that, asking for a partial refund for my stay. Instead, I was offered a discount for a future stay.I am not planning to stay in Nijmegen in the coming years, and should I, I’d definitely avoid Guesthouse Vertoef because of the poor experience I’ve had with them. I explained this via email and asked if they could offer me another compensation, one that I could actually make use of. They say they could not.I do not think good hotels treat their customers like this. Once you have paid for your stay, Guesthouse Vertoef just doesn’t seem to care anymore. Because of this attitude, I’d recommend everyone to avoid this place.

Brilliant location- super close to town and the train station.

The window in the room didn't seal very well so there was a small draught and some traffic noise in the room. We did later find a small heater that helped comfort. It is basic but economical.

The location is very convenient as it is just a short distance from the train station. The staff were kind and helpful. I enjoyed the spacious room and the interior was rather cosy. The cafe area is amazing, great seating areas and they have a nice lunch menu as well. All in all it was a great stay.

One could really hear alot from the main road - of course that's something that is not the hotel's fault. But if you are sensitive to sound I recommend bringing earplugs.

Spacious, clean, convenient for train.Modern, great facilities like laundry room and gym.

Close to Central station, very neat and clean, easy access. Friendly staff, possibility to enjoy a drink/coffee in the lounge area. Great locker system for late arrival.

Everything, the staff, the spacious room, the pillow, ? the breakfast. We were there for the 7 Heuvelen Loop, they allowed us to park and change after the run.

Very nice location close to the Central Station. Nice breakfast buffet and really cozy environment for work! The stuff was super friendly! The room was really big with nice facilities! Lovely stay!

Great location, steps away from the station. After my meeting, I went to a show at Doornroosje. It was nice not to have to walk across town, but just see the hotel from the venue.

Little weird that the room offered a microwave and cooking plate but not a plate in sight. Which I didn't really not but felt strange. Again, if that's the worst thing, it is not bad at all :)

Great facilities, good wifi, car parking on site.

Room was quite warm and unable to cool properly
