Bastion Hotel Nijmegen

Entrance to the hotel crowded with people smoking and throwing cigarette butts all over the walkway. A rude staff lady. Lack of basics in room - coffee machine broken, minimal creamers for coffee. Gaudy interior. Horrible dining experience.

Bathroom was very modern and clean, room was spacious

De hotel was clean

The bed was too soft, there was only one pillow available. The sound of the trafic outside was noicy

The room was spacious and looked alright, and I did get scrambled eggs and fried bacon for breakfast. Yoghurt, various breads and cuts were available too. Staff was patient and eager to help.

There were plastic cups for drinking, and they were dirty. The soap was tiny and finicky. There was some kind of Nespresso machine but nothing for tea. The free WiFi was unnecessarily complicated to set up and didn't seem to work on all fronts. My window wouldn't close properly until someone from the reception came up with the key. Moreover - and the hotel can't really do much about this - there was construction going on and it was a pain to even get to the hotel.

Clean room with large bathroom, mini bar in the room, good breakfast, easy parking

Far from center, hard to reach with heavy roadwork around, lighting limited in the room, no adjustable temperature (too hot), fairly expensive

I would like to have and a second option for a different pillow on my bed maybe a smaller one

At this time it was difficult to get to the hotel on foot because of the construction work being done around the hotel. Should be said that this was outwith the control of the hotel. But beware that part of the route involves walking along an unpaved track beside a 6 lane road.

The bathroom was clean and the parking was safe.

The front office staff member at the front desk when we arrived was quite indifferent. He offered no welcome and provided no information about the hotel facilities or the local area. There were no tea making facilities in the rooms.

Spacious, clean and comfy. The bed was super cosy. The shower room was excellent. Amazing value for money. Secure with ample off road parking. Great bar and very friendly staff

Shame there were road works around the property which added to travel times and cab waiting times.

No weights in the gym, it is equipped only with cardio equipment.

Getting to it was not straight forward due to roads closed because of roadworks. Would have been nice with kettle in room, only coffee machine in room

Clean, tidy and staff were extremely friendly.

Cleanliness could have been better + there are no bell boys and porter services available.

I cannot find fault with anything in the hotel

The facility was good and rooms are reasonably sizes.

Stayed for 3 night and my room wasn’t cleaned even once even after i requested cleaning 2 times. The cleaning will just come in and use the bed cover to cover the bed no sheets changed not even the bed made even though the sheets were clearly dirty. Had to sleep on dirty sheets for 2 nights.

the place is old and needs to be renavated, charging too much for that type of hotel, shaddy neighbourhood.

Room and bathroom were comfortable. There is little packing space, no drawers only a little hanging space and a few shelves, however everything was overall clean and neat. Staff at reception is friendly and helpful. Good number of channels on the TV and the Wi-Fi was adequate for what I needed to do.

Towards the middle to end of our stay I did not feel that the room was being cleaned so well. The linen and towels were not changed. Coffee machine was useless and there is no kettle or teabags in the room, until I requested that. Coffee cups were never washed or rotated which I think it a minimal requirement. Food looked and smelt good, although we could not afford to eat in the dining room, because the South African Rand is worth so little.
