Van der Valk Hotel Hildesheim

The location was absolutely perfect (for what we wanted it for). Our 5th floor room had very high ceilings, which made it feel very spacious. It overlooked the marktplatz & was magical! Had free WiFi.

We had a few stairs in our room as you entered, which made it difficult with luggage & bathroom visit in the middle of the night but made it unique, for sure.

We know it from before so we know what we get, reasonable price, garage, and restaurant in the same house

Perfect hotel. Great location, around 8min walk from Hildesheim HBF. Super quiet street, comfortable bed and amazing breakfast. Even the pool feels brand new. Will definitely recommend and come back.

A/C is not the strongest even when set up for 18 degrees celcius.

Location is good if you want to be in the city center

Parking situation was atrocious, room decor was somewhat crowded. Pool and fitness was closed for renovations. Breakfast was great in a beautiful setting.

We managed to get a large room in the new part of the Hotel. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The Hotel is centrally located from all the sites worth seeing in Hildesheim. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide variety for all tastes.

The car park was very difficult to find due to roads works in the neighbourhood.

The location, comfortable and spacious rooms, cleaned daily.

The pool was closed for refurbishment - we were looking forward to a swim.

Careful about they payment modalities!

They scam you in doing the online check in with request for payment. Payment although done via booking.com got taken off the cards double. in order to receive a refund they give you different options at first, then claim they re-booked the refund to your credit card, after 3 days nothing and send you a "refund invoice" containing a different credit card number but insisting they made the refund.Watch out when coming to this hotel!

Disappointing

The windows on my room didn't close properly. At night it was quite freezing in the room. Also the heating was not working. Complained at reception no fix for 5 days. Breakfast was poor compared to the price you have to pay.

Ajoining rooms for the kids to be close. Location on the market platz is wonderful.

the rooms are terribly dark, dim, no light. If you're going to have dark paint, wall paper and dark fixtures, then PLEASE have some lighting! Terribly dark.

Originally I have booked this hotel for the pool and wellness facilities. Right after receiving the booking information, the hotel informed me that the pool and sauna would close the exact day of my arrival. Either a cancelation nor a discount nor any other option was offered. Sadly, I needed to stay in a hotel that is not worth the price paid.

The customer service, both from booking.com and the hotel. The room was dusty.

Superb location in the centre of the old town. Parking is also very handy right under the hotel. We liked the spa area.

The breakfast was incredible! Though modern and very clean inside the and restaurant gave it a very old world, gracious feel.

The location of the hotel is perfect! You are in the center of the town, close to all the shops! The room is big and comfortable! The staff is very helpful and pleasant! I would definitely stay there again!!!

The room had a smell (maybe from the carpet) but we got used to it after a while. Also the bath floor is a little slippy.

Staff were always available to help and support. The room was tidied daily. Food on the premises was top quality.

No English news channels on the TV but I could signin to my streaming apps
